It’s early Sunday morning and I’m not doing as well as I’d like. It was a hard week and things are on my mind. I’m up, of course, to feed the cat, which is now feed the cat and kittens. The (seven) kittens heard me stirring and were about to open the door on their own when I brought the food in. There’s something to be said about having a group of cats, mainly that there’s so many of them that they tend to out think each other and figure out situations like how to open the door to get to the food earlier than their daddy wants them to have it.
Cecilia (the runt of the litter) is especially good at batting at the door until she can pop it open. She’s the smallest but she’s also the bravest. I guess I’ve been spoiling her by spending time outside of the “kitten room” since she was the one we were always going to keep. Now that it looks like we’re keeping them all (except Molly, who has a home waiting one of these days), I’m trying to introduce the others to the rest of the house at their own paces. We’ve got nothing but time right now and while Cece may be ready, Molly and Tails have got to get over hating my guts in order to trust me enough to go outside of the room.
I’ve been spending about an hour a day in there with them. We have a new toy that’s essentially a fishing pole with a plush toy on the end. For some reason they’ve had it for two weeks now and aren’t bored of it. The entire group gets in on the action while all I have to do is sit on the bed and swing an arm while having music or youtube playing in the background. It’s helping to some extent, I’m not alone and remembering Romeo, so I guess that’s good. The bad times only come in late at night (or early morning), when I can’t sleep and really need to be back in bed do I have problems. The little guy was such a big part of the house. He’s going to haunt me for a while.
I have an outing today. I’m going down to Carlisle to see ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ with my friend Margie. I’m actually looking forward to the movie. It looked pretty good even if it’s not knocking the box office down sales wise. I should be asleep so I can face the three hour drive but it’s early morning and I can’t get back to sleep and…
Yeah happy Sunday.
