I DON’T WANT STRANGERS OWNING ME. HOW DO I SET MY PROFILE TO PRIVATE?
You can’t. Owned is based on buying and selling strangers. The only real thing you can do is block the strangers that buy you then buy your pictures back. At this time (May 2008) there’s no way around it. Believe it, we’ve tried everything.
IS MY OWNED PROFILE THE SAME AS MY FACEBOOK PROFILE?
No. While your Owned profile does take some things from your Facebook profile, it’s an entirely different entity so you’re going to have to edit it to take out the basic information that you do not want to share with others (full name, age, “about me” and hometown). It does not have access to the advanced features of your Facebook profile and does not let everyone see your Facebook profile.
I BLOCKED SOMEONE IN FACEBOOK BUT THEY CAN STILL SEE ME IN OWNED!
That’s right. Owned and Facebook use two different privacy settings. If you’ve blocked them in Facebook you must turn around and block them in Owned as well.
