Update Your Bookmarks!

Hey all,

As you’ve probably seen, the Unofficial Owned FAQ is now a part of the main blog on this site and not a stand alone page.  For those who need a link to bookmark, it’s http://www.reallycoolsite.org/index.php/category/owned-faq/.

I did this for a lot of reasons, the main one being that a lot of people were asking questions about things that were already covered in the FAQ. They either didn’t see the answer they wanted or didn’t read the FAQ to start with. Hopefully this will make things a bit easier to find. I think it’s a bit more organized this way, but if you want it back the other way, please put your votes in now by commenting here.

The second big change on this site is that I’ll no longer be answering direct questions about missing money. I hate to be a butt about this, but… nearly all of the reasons money vanishes (from bugs to account zeroing) have been answered in the Strategy Guide and FAQ. I know you’re angry about it and upset about it and in most cases you haven’t had a reply from Owned Technical Support. However, the amount of fury directed my way about it is staggering. I know you’re upset, I do “feel your pain,” but since this is a volunteer site and not an Official Owned site and I have nothing to do with the administration of Owned, there’s nothing I can do about your losses.

As I’ve said before, I just don’t have the power to say anything more than, “I’m sorry, it sucks” and  “Yes, you’re right, it really does suck and shouldn’t have happened.” I do not have the power to grant refunds and I’m not rich enough on Owned in order to support your rebuilding (I get at least 10 request for it a week). I help where I can, but I just get too many of these reports each week to help everyone rebuild.

So please, take a deep breath and remember that it’s only a game. It sucks to high heaven that you’ve lost your money. I can’t say that enough, but I’ve had nothing to do with that. So please, call off the hitmen. You’ll never find my house up on this mountain top (heck, Google maps even gets it wrong), so you’re just wasting your time and effort trying to kill me over something that I don’t have anything to do with.
