The Steve Jobs Rant

I've had a few people look to me on some sort of reaction on the news of Steve Jobs quitting Apple and what it means to the future of the company. Mostly, people want to know if I'm dancing in the streets over it. I know when I was younger I absolutely hated Apple. Most "Apple People" I knew were obnoxious. They made the same three jokes about PCs and would drone on and on about the superiority of Apple products. Mind you, this was in the 1990s, pre-iPod, pre-OSX, back when the Mac OS was a monochrome mess.

How Much is Too Much?

I'm up and I'm grumpy on a Sunday night. My new kitten (shout out to Romeo, his first in a Ratfarts! Column), wouldn't let me sleep again and I'm up with an hour an a half to go until a single hour shift and then I can go back to sleep. Maybe. If he and his sister Grey Grey don't conspire to be insane again.

Back From the Brink

To say I haven't been happy lately is quite an understatement. My site has been down, obviously, and I'm grumpy. I know I'm normally grumpy, but not on the grump level that's been seen lately.

WordPress was a wonderful content management solution. It really was. All you had to do was pick someone else's design for your site and start writing. The plug-ins handled just about everything you needed to add to the site, from SEO management to galleries to display your pictures.

When it works, it's a beautiful thing. It really, really is.
