The Week Off...

I guess this is one of those random "guess what I did in my week off" kind of editions as hey, that's what I want to talk about this week!

I can't really call it "planned time off," but it'll probably be a pattern developing here. Every so often, things are going to get rough and I'm going to need a break in the action. Last week was one of those weeks. Too much stuff going on at work and I really needed to get away from here to focus. I had a Ratfarts! all ready to go but uh, yeah, looks like it never made it to the server.

The Great Star Wars Rant

ConflictA long long time ago in a blog that's far far away (but close enough to find in any of the site caching sites on the internet), I ranted about the "Special Editions" of 'Star Wars' and the Star Wars related movies.

At the time I was pissed. I mean, seriously pissed. The "special editions" of the movies are all about adding things to the series. The VHS releases in the 90's added things like Han Solo stepping on Jabba the Hutt's tail in a restored scene and Greedo shooting first (plus lots of little heres and theres) in his showdown with Han, let alone a whole song and dance number in 'Return of the Jedi' that was no where near as dumb in the original movies.

Why I'm Still F*'d Up Over 9/11.

I didn't know anyone on the planes. I didn't know anyone in the buildings. I remember the day. My mind was on an allergy appointment and a dermatology appointment and how I was going to juggle the couple of hours off between them. When the first plane hit the first tower, I didn't see it. I went to allergy shots and came home and my mom had come in and said that there was some sort of accident. At that point, no one knew it was a terrorist attack, just that some sort of plane had hit the tower.
