WRESTLING NEWS AND COMMENTARY by DENNIS MILLER
[NOTE: These are rumors as reported by local hot-lines, newsletters,
on-line wrestling services and from talking to people in the
wrestling industry. As they are *rumors* and not *facts* we ask that

WCW NEWS: There were two title changes at last Wednesday's
STARRCADE, one you saw and one you didn't . . . In the one you did
see, the WCW title went back to where it belongs when RIC FLAIR beat
RANDY SAVAGE in a match which saw both men juice . . . In the one
you didn't see, ONE MAN GANG beat KENSUKE SASAKI in a dark match to
win the US title. This could mean the end of the working
relationship between WCW and New Japan. My guess is that is
indeed the case, since it happened in a dark match which no one saw.
An Hopefully, Gang won't have the belt long . . . WCW ended the year
on a good note with a very good PPV and two excellent matches
between Ric Flair and Randy Savage . . . WCW has a CLASH OF
CHAMPIONS scheduled for January which should feature a match
involving MADUSA . . . PUBLIC ENEMY may debut at the Clash against
THE NASTY BOYS, but that is still up in the air as WCW wants to use
the name Public Enemy, but PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY apparently claims the
rights to the name in professional wrestling and DEF JAM has the
rights in entertainment . . .
WWF NEWS: Sources close to the WWF say THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR
will not be in WWF in time for THE ROYAL RUMBLE if at all. Warrior
no showed an appointment to cut a video last week . . . BUDDY
LANDELL, who was finally having some good luck in his life, had some
bad luck earlier in the week when he slipped on ice at a
Pennsylvania hotel and busted his ankle . . . Landell will be out of
action for up to eight weeks . . . SHAWN MICHAELS has a press
conference scheduled for Jan. 8, where he will announce he is
returning to wrestling. Michaels has been given a legitimate clean
bill of
health by his doctors . . . VINCE MCMAHON found out about Madusa
dumping the WWF women's belt in a trash can while he was
commentating a MONDAY NIGHT RAW match. Vince was visibly upset and
distracted for the rest of the show . . . THE BRITISH BULLDOG may be
making another face turn . . . GOLDDUST has been spotted a house
shows sitting at ringside during RAZOR RAMON matches, making sexual
advances at Ramon and even going as far as pulling down his body
stocking and pinching his nipples . . . God!!!! GoldDust also asked
Vince McMahon during a recent interview if that was a
microphone in Vince's pants or if Vince was just glad to see him . .
. God!!!!
MEXICO NEWS: Reports out of Mexico say the two big promotions
in Mexico, Triple A and EMLL, have decided to start working together
and
have even signed a working agreement . . .

WWF NEWS: GOLDDUST now sports a tattoo of RAZOR RAMON. There
is a lot of locker room friction between other wrestlers and
GoldDust because of the GoldDust character. Ramon is said to be
very upset by the whole GoldDust gay angle and Ramon does not want
to be a part of it . . . DIESEL may interfere in the BRET
HART/UNDERTAKER match at ROYAL RUMBLE setting a Diesel/Undertaker
grudge match at WRESTLEMANIA . . . Sources close to the WWF say THE
ULTIMATE WARRIOR will not be coming into the WWF . . . The WWF is
talking about moving MONDAY NIGHT RAW from Monday to Tuesday . . .
The WWF is considering running an angle where SUNNY'S secret
91-year-old husband dies leaving her a lot of money which she would
use to dump Skip and buy HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY. Regardless of
whether or not they decide to do the angle, look for Sunny to end up
with Helmsley . . .
WCW News: KONNAN will wrestle PSYCHOSIS on the January Clash .
. . WCW has decided the name PUBLIC ENEMY regardless of the legal
ramifications . . . WCW will only do nine PPV'S this year . . .

WCW News: Before I get started, I'm going to get on my soapbox for a second . . . Tuesday night, after the Clash was over I decided to check out the WCW chat on CompuServe ERIC BISHOFF had mentioned during the broadcast that he would be there after the show. I never was able to find out whether he was actually there. When I went to the chat area, there were fifty-one people there. Fifty-one people could have had a wonderful chat session on the state of wrestling and maybe we could have relayed our concerns to Bischoff and other WCW officials . . . Instead, my computer was jammed with childish little threats, put-downs, insults and other mindless crap directed not at WCW or it's wrestlers, but at each other. I was never able to find out if Bischoff or anyone from WCW was present, because of all the other bullsh!t that was going on. If Bishoff was there, he probably took one look at what was going on and left. I would have! We have more access to wrestlers and the federations they represent than ever before, but how can we expect that to continue if they have to put up with the childish behavior of a few very immature brats. If you are interested in talking with the wrestlers and the officials of these federations in a meaningful way, great! If all you're going to do, is use that chat room as play areas, please do it somewhere else. We don't need you and we don't want you . . . I'm sure I probably pissed some people off; if I did, so be it. Now on with the news . . .
WCW NEWS: BOBBY HEENAN is in hot water with WCW and TBS for letting the F-word slip out during the Clash . . . FLYING BRIAN may be kicked out of the Horsemen and replaced by DEAN MALENKO, who has just signed a new WCW contract. This would be the most technically sound group of Horsemen, since the original four . . . Don't be surprised if KONNAN beat ONE MAN GANG at Super Brawl for the U.S. title. He will be getting a huge push . . . Last Tuesday's Clash was the highest rated Clash in six years . . . There is no word yet on what WCW plans to do with both WOMAN and ELIZABETH. WCW was concerned about Elizabeth looking old, which is why you didn't see any close-ups of her . . .
WWF News: "ROWDY" RODDY PIPER is the new full-time president of the WWF . . . VADER'S "suspension" will last until he is recovered from shoulder surgery. Vader is expected to face YOKOZUNA at Wrestlemania XII . . . Yokozuna will be making a face turn very soon . . . Debuting at the most recent TV tapings was JOHN HAWKE, who will be wrestling under the name JUSTIN BRADSHAW . . . Also debuting was TEX SLAZENGER, who will be known as Henry Godwinn's brother and will be teaming with him. The team will be called Hog and Pig . . . CACTUS JACK will be coming in around WRESTLEMANIA or shortly after. He will have a Hannibal Lechter type gimmick and will be called THE MUTILATOR . . . TATANKA is back wrestling full time with the WWF . . .

WCW NEWS: KONNAN is the new US champion beating ONE MAN GANG in a match that aired this weekend. Konnan wrestled the match with a separated shoulder. They will have a rematch at Super Brawl . . . JACQUES ROUGEAU and JP LAFIETTE have signed contracts with WCW. They will most likely be known as THE FRENCH CONNECTION and will probably not be coming in until July because of a no compete clause in Lafiete's WWF contract . . . THE GIANT may be making a face turn soon . . . ERIC BISCHOFF has signed a new three year big money contract . . . WCW continues to beat the WWF in the Monday night ratings wars . . . Ric Flair was very upset by WCW'S plans to turn him into a living legend type babyface. Flair had threatened to leave WCW if they went ahead with their plans. Flair getting a pin win over HH shows that Flair still has some power in WCW . . . WCW seems to be having a very difficult time figuring out what to do with BRIAN PILLMAN. They are said to be scared the WWF will grab him and make him into a major superstar . . . DEVON STORM has signed a WCW contract . . .
WWF NEWS: RODDY PIPER'S reign as president of the WWF is expected to only last through WRESTLEMANIA . . . The lineup for the Feb. 18 IYH PPV has been totally revamped with BRET HART vs. DIESEL in a cage staying the same but the other matches have changed . . . New matches include: RAZOR RAMON vs. THE 123 KID in a baby bottle diaper match, THE BRITISH BULLDOG vs. YOKOZUNA, SHAWN MICHAELS vs. OWEN HART, HUNTER HEARST HELMSLEY vs. DUKE DROESE and THE SMOKING GUNS vs. THE BODYDONNAS . . . .STAN LANE is gone from the WWF and is now selling cars in Charlotte, NC . . . Hunter Hearst Helmsley's gimmick is being changed from a spoiled brat type to more of a Ric Flair type playboy . . . Vader is expected to appear at IYH, but not wrestle . . . The WWF may change STEVE AUSTIN'S gimmick, they are happy with Austin but not with THE RING MASTER gimmick . . .
ECW NEWS: MISSY HYATT has come in to replace WOMAN . . . PAUL E. DANGEROUSLY is still planning on trying to do a PPV . . .
CWA NEWS: Last Friday night, the CWA had what may be the worst PPV in the history of wrestling. There was a one hour football match with the biggest name being CHIP THE FIREBREAKER . . . The show was put on by a company out of San Francisco, with the wrestlers not even getting paid for appearing . . . The announcing team consisted of DOYLE KING, THE ANGEL OF DEATH, RAY MANSINI, and some idiot who had obviously never seen a wrestling match before . . . STEVE WILLIAMS will be wrestling some matches for the CWA to get in shape for his return to All Japan wrestling . . .
World Wrestling Festival: ANTONIO ANOKI has gotten commitment from the WWF, WCW, EMLL, Triple A, New Japan, and other federations to send wrestlers to his May 18 show in Los Angeles . . . Apparently, the wrestlers will only wrestle other wrestlers from their own promotions . . .

WWF NEWS: As most of you know by now, DAVEY BOY SMITH was
found not guilty of Assault last week . . . In a copy of a newspaper
article sent to me by Brant Pedlowski, it was determined that the
injuries suffered by the plaintiff were caused by the plaintiff and
not by Smith. A doctor who testified stated the plaintiff's
injuries were consistent of those of a drunk who had fallen on his
head. The trial received lots of attention in Calgary Alberta
Canada, where it took place . . . BILLY GUNN is out of action for
several weeks after having neck surgery . . . VINCE MCMAHON has
filed a compliant with the Federal Trade Commission against WCW. The
compliant has something to do with Nitro being on at the same time
as Raw. Actually, it probably has more to do with Raw losing to
Nitro in the ratings . . . The WWF is also mad at WCW for jokingly
blaming a power outage on last week's Nitro on the WWF . . . WCW is
mad at the WWF for references to Ted Turner's decease father in one
of their Billionaire Ted skits . . . WCW is said to have also
offered Diesel seven hundred fifty thousand a year to jump ship . .
. They have also made an offer to RAZOR RAMON. They have not made an
offer to GOLDDUST or the HOG COUSINS . . .
WCW NEWS: By the time you read this, BRIAN PILLMAN will be gone
from WCW . . . The strap match between Pillman and KEVIN SULLIVAN
did not go as it was supposed to. Rumor has it, the punch Kevin
Sullivan threw was a shoot punch, and the final straw was when
Pillman grabbed the microphone and said "I respect you Mr. Booker
Man" . . . ICE TRAIN is returning to WCW to form a tagteam with
SCOTT NORTON called FIRE AND ICE . . . PUBLIC ENEMY is in hot water
with WCW after JOHNNY GRUNGE "borrowed" a production van at the
Orlando TV taping and then went out and got drunk. Grunge was
arrested for driving while intoxicated and spent the night in jail . . .
