Dead Tired

It's monday afternoon and I'm hading back to bed. I feel like death and I really really just want to take a nap. Since my folks are away I have both of the house phones in my room, and as usual, I'm cursing the day phones were invented because I keep getting phone solicitations that wake me up.

I think I'm grumpier without soda. Yes, I'm now into a month with the one soda a day plan. I've pretty much totally switched to water, which is both good and bad. Sometimes I need the kick that all that sugar and caffiene would bring to me. Lilke right now, for example, I would kill for a soda or two, but I can't do that any more and I remind myself that and get through it.

Going through a lot of stress right now. Work has started to get heavy and my mind is either on rearranging the college football boards or in pro wrestling. Don't ask me about my three other areas. I don't want to know. There hasn't been time to think, let alone catch up on techtv gossip. Heck, I haven't watched the screensavers in weeks and I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I haven't given up on any of my techtv friends though. Contrary to reports. I'm still here and I"m not going anywhere. I'm just going to be stressed out of my mind until January and the last bowl games are over. Just three more months ...

Quickly on a Saturday Morning

I'm at working and writing between doing half a dozen other things. College football season is almost here and I've spent the past couple of days up to my eyeballs in work. Haven't had a lot of time to talk, and I've been withdrawn a lot lately. I don't feel like talking, but I will, I'll be fine once the season starts and some of the stress is gone.

For those looking for my vacation pictures, I took them off the server for now. They'll reappear down the line once they're ready. It's another project I've been working on and I took them off the server to move them the other day but I haven't had time to put them in the new location. Once that happens I'll let those who want them know the url.

My new e-mail is jamesknine@reallycoolsite.org if anyone needs me, or for those who have my IM name then go ahead and use it. I'm here, I'm just stressed and it'll get better soon.

I miss my moops, all of them.

Talk soon,

Tuesday Night Crank Fest

Tonight I'm gonna have myself a real good time
I feel alive and the world it's turning inside out Yeah!
I'm floating around in ecstasy
So don't stop me now don't stop me
'Cause I'm having a good time having a good time

As the title says, it's Tuesday night and I'm tired. The day started with yellow jackets or wasps. I don't know. I really don't. I know they had a nest under the lower portion of the front door and I sprayed it last night with pesticide. This morning they tried to get into the house. I don't like killing things and I didn't know what to do when the front window was full of these creatures. So I did what anyone else would have done, I freaked.

I'm a shooting star leaping through the skies
Like a tiger defying the laws of gravity
I'm a racing car passing by like Lady Godiva
I'm gonna go go go
There's no stopping me

Thankfully my parents weren't home. They were two hours away at the doctors. I'm glad because my mom is deathly afraid of anything resembling a bee. So the front window would have made her faint dead away; if women were prone to fainting these days that is. I got the dogs downstairs and collected the three cats who were inside and put them in the computer room. Called my mom and she didn't know what to do, so I jumped in the car and started down the hill to get pesticide.

I'm burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic man of you

Two stores later (and a frightened phone call to a friend later since I'm no god damned hero), I came back and found most of the flying things were out of the front window and throughout the house. That's when I got pissed and started spraying anything that flew. Killed about 5 of the suckers and went after the nest again. I think between my spraying, and my mom's total bombing of the area with pesticide later in the day, the nest was eliminated.

Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (Yes I'm having a good time)
I don't want to stop at all

I hate killing. I believe that everything is here for a purpose and agonize about killing everything from bugs to spiders (I scoop them up in cups and put them outside), but sometimes it's either you or them. In this case the flying stinging things (I really should wear my glasses when I fight off insects), were trying to take over my house and endangering my animals and the rest of my family. If there were an alternative I would have taken it. Sadly there wasn't. So off they went into oblivion.

I'm a rocket ship on my way to Mars
On a collision course
I am a satellite I'm out of control
I am a sex machine ready to reload
Like an atom bomb about to
Oh oh oh oh oh explode

Went out to Sears to see if they sold gamecubes so I could get my niece and nephew their early birthday/x-mas present. Wanted to put it on my sears card so I could pay it off before my vacation next month, but sadly, they don't have gamecubes at Sears. Why? Don't know, I do know that I waited 20 minutes for a salesperson and got my answer in 2 seconds. Bastards.

I'm burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman out of you

From there it was to the toys r us. I was looking for NFL 2k3 for myself. I'm addicted to that series. It's the best football game out ever. Don't care for Madden, call me an idiot or whatever, but I don't. Sega is more my speed and that game rocks on my xbox (like it did on the dreamcast before it). Of course it won't be out until the end of the week. I bought EA's NCAA football 2003 for xbox to tide me over. It's a write off anyway since it's actually helping me learn all these college football teams.

Don't stop me don't stop me don't stop me
Hey hey hey!
Don't stop me don't stop me
Ooh ooh ooh (I like it)
Don't stop me have a good time good time
Don't stop me don't stop me
Ooh ooh Alright
I'm burning through the skies Yeah!
Two hundred degrees
That's why they call me Mister Fahrenheit
I'm trav'ling at the speed of light
I wanna make a supersonic woman of you

Got home and decided to pay my bills early. I love online payments. I can't remember to send my snail mail stuff out, but I'm constantly checking on payments online. I wish all my bills were online. I really do. Unfortunately, I have a sears card and a sears card plus account. I thought that when I changed the checking account on one it would change both. It didn't and I didn't catch it in time. So I was running down to the bank to throw money in the other account before the request for money went through. I love technology and my own stupidity.

Don't stop me now I'm having such a good time
I'm having a ball don't stop me now
If you wanna have a good time
Just give me a call
Don't stop me now ('Cause I'm having a good time)
Don't stop me now (Yes I'm having a good time)
I don't wanna stop at all

So I stopped at k-mart after the bank. Got flea bombs (every Aug. have to bomb the house because of the cats), and picked up Bull Durham on DVD. Excellent movie. Ended up watching it before going to my now weekly conference call for work. A lot going on and things are going to be stressful from now until the end of the year. I'm tired, I'm bored and I'm grumpy and that sums up my day. Exciting wasn't it? :)

La la la la laaaa
La la la la
La la laa laa laa laaa
La la laa la la la la la laaa hey!!....

Sunday Morning Shh!

It's Sunday morning and I'm goofing off from work to blog quickly before returning my attention to my ::gag:: weekly report. This week they've added about half a million new stats to it and I really don't care to figure out what I should be doing this week. They're only going to change it next week so it's not like it matters.

I've cranked David Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans" since no one is home and Mayhem really digs it for some reason. Strange cat. I think she's deaf or slightly mad. In any case she really digs this song and is going to tell me about it if she ever wakes up enough to do more than twitch her tail to the beat. Honest, she really loves the song I think. Her twitching in her sleep increases whenever I play it. So she's either annoyed or ... well she just woke up, looked around, and walked off. There goes that theory.

Dammit.

"God is an American."

Finished "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman this week and I kind of digged it. I had been reading it off and on since before my trip started. My friend Mandy read it and beat my in finishing it by about a week. Okay, so I'm a slower reader than she is, but I really liked the book and didn't want to finish it. In comic terms it was a novel on the scale of "Crisis on Infinite Earths." Meaning there were a million characters and stories besides the main story and they gelled together nicely to provide an entertaining overall story. A lot of twists and turns along the way and it made comments on American society and fame that I hadn't thought about before.

Do we worship celebrities? Is fandom a form or worship? Is downloading someone's picture from the Internet and following their appearances a form of tribute? Are gods created simply from a fan lighting a candle for them on their birthdays? Furthermore, are saints some form of gods? In the Catholic faith there's only one god, but there's a million saints who we celebrate their birthdays or holy days. Is that another form of worship? Out there somewhere, is there a Britney Spears goddess just waiting to launch on the world? Let alone the Olson Twins? Oh dear god. Literally.

I hope this is one of the books that Leo actually read. He interviewed Gaiman on the air when it came out and said it was "Fantastic" and "he loved it" but then again, he says that about everything so god only knows. If Leo actually read or loved everything that he says he does he wouldn't have time to be on the air. Outch. Seriously, it's worth the read especially if you're a techtv level celebrity.

On that note, I'm outta here. Work calls ...
