Uh ...

I'm a sad sick man.

I was up until well after midnight doing live play by play in our WrestleMania Chat room. We had a good crowd and I hadn't done play by play in a chat room in quite a long time. I forgot how exhausting it is.

Played a little simgolf before bed ... that's what did it. Damn that game, damn it.

I started having a mix of live action and video game dreams. I was back at my old college and it was finals week. I really did have golf in gym class back in college and I had just finished that final. I went back to the student center to play some video games. Stef, of all people, approached me and asked how my final went. I said okay then she suggested making the drive down to see the Agusta National Championships in golf. We went upstairs to the giant TV (which used to be on soaps most of the day), and watched simgolf footage of the championships.

Then she called me a weenie because I didn't make the drive. She started to leave and I followed her. Next thing I know we're driving there. She wanted to protest because women aren't allowed to be members there. I just wanted to stop these images of simgolf in my head. So we're driving and I wake up. I really have to go to the bathroom in real life. So I sneak to the bathroom (avoiding the cat waiting for early food at my door). I walk back to bed, close my eyes, and I'm right back in the dream.

God help me.

Simgolf. Simgolf. Simgolf.

Plus too much junk food.

Plus working too late.

Plus I'm screwed up in the first place.

= Damn, I'm still Simgolf's bitch.

Help me.

Someone get me an excorcist.

Sunday Double Ugg

So it's Sunday and it's 32 degrees out. It got really cold last night and our dish is still out. It's kind of nice because it's a break from the war coverage that I've been watching for days now, but man, it's WRESTLEMANIA today and if my dish isn't up tonight I can't help in the coverage.

When it gets cold overnight my dreams get kind of weird. Last night I had yet another dream that I was back in Canada with Laura. This time we were going to supposedly haunted bed & breakfasts. We also had Rachel with us. At every place when it came to decide who would sleep in the haunted room they would always decide it would be me. Then they wouldn't tell me. So I'd go to bed oblivious. I didn't see anything after three or four stops. Then on the fifth one I woke up to see things floating around the room. I looked up and there was a fully old fashioned white glowing spectre standing in the middle of the room. I looked bored. He started yelling about blood dripping from the walls and that sort of stuff. I wasn't impressed. He finally gave up and asked why I wasn't scared. I asked him if he'd seen my traveling companions. He said yes. I asked had he seen them fight over who got to drive or what mall we were going to buy shoes at next. He shuddered at the thought. I said "that's why I'm not scared of you" and he said "I can see why," then excused himself and vanished. I went back to sleep.

I had a 70's show dream after that. Eric got Donna pregnant then she broke up with him before telling him. Jackie dumped Hyde when Michael got money from a game show. Hyde went after Donna again but she told him to drop it because she was getting back with Eric. Michael bought a firetruck and painted it green. The driver's license place girl rented a room from the Foreman's and Kitty and Red were in bed listening to strange thuds at night on the wall they shared with that room. Jackie got back with Hyde after Michael decided to tour the country in his pot green fire truck. Red eventually started shooting up the house with a shotgun after he discovered that the thuds were from Fez getting lucky with the driver's license place girl.

God I miss that show. I can't pick up FOX on my UHF antenna any more. Which totally sucks. No 70's, Simpsons, Malcom ... maaaaaaaaaaan. Okay I'm not missing American Idol, but the rest! It totally sucks.

And now I'm going to stagger to my work account and try something completely different.

It's still snowing. 2-4 inches.

God help us all.

A Saturday Ugg

We're in the middle of a ugly afternoon. It's sixty out, supposed to get down in the 30's tomorrow and there's a possibility of snow. Yes, snow. After all this time to melt ... I think I'll fall over and give up if the ground is covered in that stuff again anytime soon.

We had a snowstorm on president's day? Know why? Because I found a frozen newspaper under the snow with that date on it. Yes, we had that much snow. It looks like fall outside now because all of the leaves that normally would have blown or rotted away in the woods were perfectly preserved under the snow. I found a dead bird on the side of the road too, though I'm not sure if it was frozen to death or if it died from west nile virus, which is indeed in our area.

Right now it's raining. The dish is out. I'm trying to entertain myself by downloading new music. ALL of my mp3s are on the hard drive that was on the little computer. This is probably for the best as I had whittled down my collection to just a handful of songs tha I really liked. The rest are on nearly 150 mp3 cds (most of them burnt from my collection), sitting in piles in my drawer here. Yah, okay, if the RIAA wants to string someone up for piracy, they'll probably come to my door first. I'm a packrat. It's in my nature. I can't through music discs out. They're sitting here waiting in case someone wants a copy of them.

I think in this batch I'm downloading a Paul McCartney Tribute album. I didn't even know there was one out there. Neither did the record world, I guess, because the tributes aren't by big bands. I'm guessing that's okay because I don't need the horrors of the 70's era Beatles tribute albums (just don't get me started). Let alone ... the Bee Gees' Sgt. Pepper. Let's so not go there.

Trying "new music" which is my crop of B.S. for songs that I've heard on Monday Night RAW and I want to hear more of. So I dl'd Tatu's album (it's okay, it's nice to know that the popular song is "All the thing she said" and not "Hammering in my head" ... though I like my version better!), and Evanscence's album. I also downloaded the Donnas because they sound like an 80's girl rock band. I mean they could kill and skin the Go-go's. Probably be a good career move for the Go-Go's as well. But I digress ...

Okay I've gone 37 minutes now after my nap without playing SimGolf. I don't know how I became so obsessed with that game. With all the reformats it's the only game I've bothered to put back on my system each time. I think I've become obsessed with getting to 18 holes and meeting all the requirements of tournament play. I usually get to 15 holes and give up because I want to try new hole ideas out on new courses. Plus it gets damn hard, even in sandbox mode. Mind you I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM DOING SINCE I HATE GOLF ... but umm. Okay I'm SimGolf's bitch and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

God this is stupid. I'm cutting this short to go play again.

Help me.

Break my virtual clubs.

Club me in the head.

Just stop the horror that is SimGolf addiction.

Friday Night Cluelessness

"Trying" by James Knine
So it's another night
and I'm trying so hard
to repair the damage
that I blindly made

trying to change
things about myself
trying to fix those
times that got weird

trying to get through
all this time to think
all this time alone
lost in my thoughts

wanting you to know that
I didn't give up
I didn't go away
I'm still here

Thursday Afternoon

Okay so it's the last time I'm going to be reinstalling anything on this system in a while. I ended up going through 2 motherboards in 3 weeks. I'm on the 3rd one now (see below), and so far everything is working okay.

I'm trying to get back into writing strips. I've been through about a month of hell with system stuff. Even before that I've been out of it. I've alienated long-time friends and I feel horribly about it. Just haven't been in the mood to talk. Had a lot on my mind and just haven't had time to myself without a gigantic crisis until today. So I'm here. Talk to me.

On that note, I'm going to go try to do some site stuff.

So, um ...

The new motherboard came. An Abit NF7-M. It took a couple hours to install yesterday and so far no video card glitches. The only thing I don't like about it is that I had to move my cd/dvd drives all the way to the top parts of my case because the lower slot runs right into the RAM. It recognized my processor automatically (there is a god!), and so far my installation is going pretty darn well. Well, well enough for me to spend most of last night watching my brand spanking new "Spice World" DVD on it. :) I'm a sad sick man. I'm going to watch Beavis & Butthead do America in a few. Yes, yes, sad sick man. I even ordered BASEketball on DVD, oh yes, oh yes ...

Monday Morning

It's Monday Morning and I'm up early. I kept having dreams of news coverage about the war. It got annoying so I got up. I guess it's way too easy to get caught up in the coverage of the war. Especially with yesterday's terrible coverage of Iraqis desecrating bodies of our troops. It wasn't a good day at all for the war. I guess NO day is a good day for war but yesterday's horrible events just strengthened the resolve of a lot of people to get this thing over with and get it over with fast.

There are times when you need to know when to fold your cards. I don't like this war, I never liked this war. I hate the fact that it had to come to war. However, with that said, I know that no matter how much protesting anyone does, they're not going to pull the troops out of Iraq just because people are marching in the streets of our major cities. Our president is determined to go through this war and through this effort until Saddam is gone. It's going to be a long drawn out thing. It's not going to be a Nintendo war and they've decided that we're going to do whatever it takes to take him out regardless of the cost to our country.

So what do you do instead? Watch, wait and remember. Elections are coming up. The Republicans swept everything last time. In my county they did because they ran unapposed or ran against people who had no chance of winning (as much as I admire the concept of the green party, there ain't no way outside of California is it gonna win an election). Get your forces together, get a good generic candidate and get people out to vote. If everyone who took to the streets this weekend (on both sides of the issue), took to the streets again to vote in elections a lot of things could be done. I doubt it will happen, because it's much easier to march in a street than vote in an election, but there are options. Wait, organize, gather forces, and wage your own war in the elections. You CAN change things if you want to.

I have an hour until I have to work. I'm taking PTO time this week because I'm an idiot and I need a break. Just don't ask.

Just Another Test

It's saturday afternoon and I'm not going to talk about it. Just updating some links to include Mycomicspage.com and Bloomcounty.com.

Reading Bloom County as a kid is one of the reasons I'm so weird. It's worth $9 a year to subscribe to mycomicspage.com to get the reprints.

Be safe all.

Thursday

Yes, it's Thursday. I'm blogging again after my last reinstall of windows xp on my main machine.

I have screwed up XP every possible way ... from networking to putting it on the wrong partition to just being stupid. The latest go round came this morning when I realized that I never reset the old network on the other machine to reflect the new machine. Don't ask. I have a headache. I really do.

So right now things are back and things are working. The other machine wasn't recording in dvd quality because there wasn't enough RAM for it. So I flipped the RAM from this machine to that machine. Problem solved for now. I omitted the part about trying to put a floppy drive in the other machine and ending up killing not one but two floppies. Then there was the part about putting the DVD-RW drive in upside down. I am an idiot. I am under so much stress and I miss my moops severely.

Right now I'm downloading 62 megs of windows updates then I'm going to finish putting everything back on this system then that's it. No more. I'm not reinstalling again. Well, unless I screw something up.

God help me.

God save me.

Oh dear god.

Monday Morning

So it's Monday. I don't know what else to say. I'm up, I have to work at 9 and I've showered and fed the animals. I'm tired. I feel like taking the day off.

It's 50 degrees outside and all the snow is finally melting off so there's heavy fog outside. I hauled wood through mud yesterday. It was almost 60 out and I was way over dressed. I had to stop and strip off my sweater and unbutton my coat before I overheated. It was kind of disappointing because it has been SUCH a pain in the butt to get the cart up the hill that I didn't know how to handle being able to drag the cart up the hill without it being a complete pain in the butt. I ended up turning the cart around and going backwards up the hill just to make it difficult. I'm insane. Thank you.

So I put the new motherboard in. It seems to be going fine. On the other machine I have to figure out how to upgrade the bios without a floppy disk. There's supposedly a fix that will stop the problems I'm having recording in DVD quality. God only knows.

I'm half awake and heading to work. Ugg.

Thursday in the Snow ... Fun

This morning I actually slept in a bit. I had a dream that Summa got her license and came to my house. I had to get in the back because she had a guy in the front seat and one in the back. I thought this was odd, it was even odder when I realized that they're Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of the Who. Seriously. The remaining living members of the Who are in Summa's car. I was cool with it, to say the least. We ended up going out to for ice cream and played darts at a big house in the hills. I remember they assured me that they weren't going to turn into the remaining members of the Bee Gees and then I woke up saying, "Yah, I expected as much from Summa."

I woke up and went about reformattting the TV Computer after the external modem I bought wasn't xp compatible. It caused serious driver issues, no matter what I did, so I ended up reformatting. Then I put the wrong device drivers on and decided to give up for the afternoon because I had to go to the dentist. Just a cleaning. They found a possible cavity on a tooth with a filling in it so they're going to replace my metal filling with a colored one. I hope they pick orange.

When I went into the dentist it was 40 degrees and raining. When I came out it was hailing quite a bit and getting cold. I stopped for gas across the street and by the time I had paid my $17 for a tank of gas, it had turned to snow. I made it to the mall, thinking nothing of the snow since it couldn't possibly stick as it had been above freezing for two days. By the time I was done getting my new external modem (and the movie "Tommy Boy" on DVD), it was heavy wet snow and there was a half inch on the road.

It's about a half hour drive home from the mall. The station wagon of doom isn't the greatest in snow. I couldn't change lanes because I started to fishtail when I crossed over the lines. I was pretty good otherwise, but then visibility started to get really bad because everyone was throwing up a lot of moisture. In the middle of the foggy snowy ride I hear a snap and the little band on my glasses breaks and one of my lenses is now on my lap. So I'm now driving through the fog over the heavily covered snow with strange 3-d visuals as one eye is seeing the world great and the other eye is slightly off. I think I finally saw the dolphins and the sailboat. Digressing.

I get to our hill and I notice no one has plowed yet. I notice this because there was an inch of ice in the turn lane just to make the turn and more on the hill. I look up the hill and see that there's a bunch of tire tracks through the snow so I figure that I can make it up. I start up the really steep slope and I know I'm in trouble. I mean I'm in the snow with driving with one eye open because I think some crazy 3-d picture is going to pop up at me like on one of those joke eye test websites already, how worse can it get? I sort of get up the hill. I mean I guess I did, but how I did it -- zig zagging from one gutter to the other like a my heavily sedated father trying to drive is another story altogether.

So I get to a flat portion and notice that as I go further up the moutain there are less and less tire tracks to get my tires into because the sane people have given up and gone back down the mountain. I get to another steep portion and it's another zig zag pattern. I could see my tracks in the snow behind me and I just know some cop is going to find them and follow them and give me a breathalizer test. I almost nailed a bunch of mailboxes but it was their own fault, they should have run a little faster when they saw me coming. The garbage cans missed me completely! They knew not to mess with me!

I finally get home and calmly go inside the house. I check on my dad and he asks how the drive was, I, of course, say "Uneventful" and leave it at that.

2 hours later the road has been plowed and it's wet out there. About 2 inches of snow. I have to go to work in 10 minutes and hopefully, yes hopefully, it'll have stopped snowing tomorrow by 1 PM when I have to go get my glasses fixed.

Say a prayer or something for me or get Michael Jackson to lift the voodoo curse.

Wednesday, March 12, 2003

Later on ...

A little bit later and I'm so screwed up. Lately my body thinks that it's time to change the clocks. I've been waking up exactly an hour early and getting extremely tired about an hour before I normally do. It's three weeks until we change the clocks and I'm so not a morning person, so lol, this is getting odd. Way odd, if you ask me.

Right now I'm choking back tears. I'm screwed up that way too. When I was in my early teens it was drilled into my head that men don't cry. Ever. Period. So I stopped crying.

I used to love crying. When I was 12 or 13 I'd be alone in my room and I'd work myself up into tears and then take a nap afterwards. It just felt so good to wake up after getting it all out of my system. I kind of miss that. It was a private little thing, far better for me than developing an eating disorder or a drug problem I guess.

I think I've cried twice in the past 20 years. Once when Wonderdog died (long story) and I shed a tear seeing the flag flying high over Williamsport after 9/11. As messed up as I was, I didn't even cry at my grand mother's funeral. I was the oldest male grandchild (of 5), and the only male representative of my side of the family since my dad was too screwed up to make the drive. I held things in and tried to be a role model for my cousins, who were all so much younger than me and who were having a horrible time dealing with it.

Sometimes I'm just numb to things or just too stupid to get the fact that I should be reacting normally to things by crying. I don't cry out that often either. A few years back I had a sty on my eyelid. They gave me an injection in my eye to numb it. Huge needle. I just sucked it up and was patient until it was over. Afterwards the doctor wanted to know if I was all right because most patients scream during that shot. Had I known it was okay, I probably should have screamed my head off. LOL.

9/11 seriously screwed me up. I get choked up over sentimental things now. I'm listening to Bruce Springsteen's "My City of Ruins" and I could be bawling now. Seriously. Anything sentimental, anything with people joining together and being good to each other does it. I feel like Deputy Andy on Twin Peaks (let's see if anyone gets that reference), but I don't sit here blubbering, I mean my voice will crack, I won't shed any tears and I'll be fine after a minute or two. Seriously weird, seriously screwed, that's me.

I'm speaking out on a lot of stuff in my latest strips. I'll probably go more topical for the rest of the season. I tried to offer balanced perspectives but sometimes it's hard when I feel so strongly about things. I've backed off on making the president an idiot. Obviously he was smart enough to become president, so that's something going for him that I've yet to achieve. However, selling out and using the army for personal things is a running theme. Leo using the war for personal gain goes back to the guy in NY last week who was arrested for wearing the Peace T-shirt. A lawyer, mind you. He's probably counting the money he's going to make from the lawsuit, rather than the test of civil liberties he faced last week.

Martin and Michael Jackson was just plain fun to do. I'd never photo shopped that much before. I had to make it seem plausible that Martin and Michael were together while still using the little kid's body. I think I did a half decent job on it even though Martin's hair changes with ever panel. That boy needs a good haircut or at least something that stays in the same place so I can @#$@ing Photoshop it. :)

There's a method to my madness with the Morgan stuff and the latest stuff with Mike Tyson. Hopefully this will be a season you come back to. I mean there's 32 people who read my strips. That's it. I think of those 10 are bots. I still hope the TechTV folks are reading. I have no way of knowing, but if you're out there and you like the site, hey, let me know. I'm not really a hermit on top of my mountain. Drop me mail.

With that, I have to work in 10 minutes.

k9

Ugg. Not again.

So the new PC plans were this: take the DVD-RW out of the old machine. Take the ATI Radeon 9700 All in Wonder of it. Put both in new machine. Put new ATI Radeon 9700 Pro in new PC. Put old DVD drive in old machine. Put new network card in old PC.

What the heck did I do wrong?

I don't know. Seriously. I used to have problems with the old DVD drive. Sometimes it wouldn't work correctly on the system. That was always a matter of rebooting and it'd be fine. This time, though, my computer would come up and say that my secondary master and slave combo were ATAPI incompatible then wouldn't load them. It was random, almost totally random at first. Then it got progressively worse over the past day or so.

I took the DVD out of this one. It still did it. I took out both drives out to see if that was it. That time it came up and said that my primary drive was ATAPI incompatible. A reboot and changing the drive status in BIOS fixed that. I tried unplugging the drives and plugging them back in; that didn't do it. I tried changing the cables, that didn't do it. Sure the primary disk is working now, but again, it's the secondary -- my CD drive and my dvd drive -- that still won't work.

A while back it had a problem with the primary hard drive. I thought it was the hard drive going bad, but I think that it's the motherboard and I think that stuff is going fast on that this thing. So I ordered a new motherboard and new RAM (my current one uses SDRAM so I can't transfer it), but I can move my XP 1800+ over to the new motherboard. Well, hopefully anyway. The new motherboard has a built in LAN and 4 USB 4.0 ports on it, so hopefully that'll take out the need for two PCI slots. Hopefully that'll take the power load down.

So the new plan:

Reformat the new computer since I put windows on the wrong partition. Move as much as possible over to that machine.

When I build the old one with the new motherboard, I'm going to reverse the drives since my d: drive is faster than my c: drive right now (and bigger too). I think I'll partition it into 2 c: drives of 40 gigs each. Or one of 20 and one of 60. I just want Windows alone with the swapfile. Then when I do windows, I'm only going to do it with my agp card and my sound card. Everything else I'll put in one step at a time until it all works. Cross your fingers. I mean seriously. I'll probably mess this up.

The good news is that the mini-TV-computer works great. The ATI All in Wonder 9700 Pro's remote control is kick ass. You can use it as a wireless mouse. That so rocks. :)

But otherwise ... ugg.

More later.

Random Thoughts by James Knine

Looking back
I do have regrets
of faces that have faded
of names that have gone
I wish that I could remember
all the times I wished to forget
and now I sit here
with your memory lingering
as I got my wish
and now our times are gone

I miss you
I love you
I'm having a bad night

I need you
I love you
find your way home

It's cold and windy here
I hear the trees moving outside
I think that it's a monster
waiting in the dark
like a dream, like a memory
like something I've forgotten
sent to take me away from
the peace that I've found
one boo and I'm so gone
hiding under my desk

I'm not strong
I'm not right
but you knew that

I'm not a coward
I'm just too scared
of monsters in dark places

I'm going to face my fears
I'm going to walk without light
if I have to close my eyes
and stumble in the dark
not sure if the blind path is clearer
or if I'll bump my head as I walk
but there's nothing left but to
make my way in the dark
now that you are gone

Rest in easy, my friend
I miss you
I love you
I am alone tonight

The Lowest Point in My Life

It's Saturday evening, 6:21 PM ET. As I write this "Spice World" is playing in my VCR. I realize that I miss the spice girls.

This has to be the lowest point in my life. Honest. I know all the words to the song "Too Much." I know when they all get loud to cover the fact that Posh can't sing. But I don't care. I really don't. It's a funny movie. Sorta. Come on, George Wendt and Meatloaf are in it. Ginger's got the extra weight and she's sexxay.

I'm so in lust. Dammit why can't it be 1997 again?

When the Spice Girls were the target of all of our hate and this movie came out and everyone still hated them.

When McDonalds had the Arch Deluxe ... mmm ... Arch Deluxe ...

Peppercorn sauce and bacon ... mmm .... Arch Deluxe ...

Where was I? Oh, I've decided that we're the best damn TechTV site that no one's ever visited. I started to add galleries (click "seasons"), where you can *actually download pictures* of your favorite TechTV stars. I'll keep them up as long as people don't link directly to the pictures. If they do that and I get hit with bandwidth fees again I'll take 'em down. But this way is a lot easier for me to give people pictures that they want without spending half my time managing e-mail addresses and uploading random pictures.

Mmm ... Arch Deluxe ...

Where was I?

I'm also signing up for the full audioblogging. So if anyone cares about that, SIGN MY DARN GUESTBOOK TO MAKE ME SMILE DAMMIT.

Lining up special guests so you can hear from the people in my internet neighborhood. I think I get 12 3-minute sessions a month for $3. That's a good value for $3.

Mmm ... Ginger ...

I still want to be site of the night one night. I'll pay the darn bandwidth after they crash my site but I have no clue how to do it. If anyone is out there who has some influence, my e-mail is jamesknine@reallycoolsite.org. Let me know a plan of action. Well, if they haven't retired it. :)

Our two year anniversary is coming up quickly. So let's get ready for one hell of a bash.

On that note, I'm off to watch the rest of this.

Spice Girls 2003:
Stef = Baby
Summa = Sporty
Moopie = Scary
Laura = Posh
Chellie the Okto Girl = Ginger

Okay so they'd break up before getting on planes to get together, but I'm bored out of my mind. :)

I better go now.

Spaced Out of My Mind -- WARNING WARNING!

Hey all, before you click the audioblog post, just know that I worked 12+ hours today nonstop and my mind is totally gone. My voice is totally odd right now and I'm just laughing since I sound SO weird in my audio blog. I may sign up for it. It is $3 a month for 12 sessions, so get used to my horrible voice. That is if people comment in my guestbook about it ... encourage me. I need it. I'm also about to fall over.

I'm technically off tomorrow and saturday since they don't have hours to give me. I used them all up doing stuff today. So god help me. I may sleep.

Wednesday Morning

A couple of days later and I'm up. I have to convert over 150 message boards to a new format today. Since it is the message board descriptions and each one is unique, I have to do it all by hand. Not fun. I'm starting the day with sugar and coca-cola. After three hours of converting this morning, I have to go out and do wood again. I've been stalled the past couple of days because of two inches of slick solid ice. In fact, the wood cart is currently stuck half way down the hill on the ice because I simply can't get to it. It's TOO slick. I've fallen twice trying to get to it and I don't plan on falling again.

Thankfully, it's 36 and it's raining right now. So hopefully I can take a spade out there and smash smash smash later on ...

In other news, I got off my butt and called the company about my processor. They claim that they've been trying to call me on my computer line all this time so they had the order on hold. I didn't really buy that when they put me on hold. While I was waiting I had to cough but it wouldn't come out. I was also angry. Since I was congested suddenly I had a deep bass to my voice on a Darth Vader level. It just wouldn't stop and I couldn't cough. When the guy came back my normal timid voice was replaced by this throaty deep baritone. When confronted with an angry Darth Vader on the phone, he was suddenly quite helpful and my order is shipping tomorrow. I kept him on the line just shooting the breeze because I wanted to hear what I could do with my evil angry Darth Vader voice.

Strip #2 yesterday came out because I decided to go to Burger King and I still had the voice. So what you see with Greg Brannan is what I came up with while I was driving around enjoying my Darth Vader voice.

Sadly, I finally coughed and it went away, but MAN was it fun ...

The Next Day

Still haven't heard from my cousin. Then again, I *really* wasn't awake last night. I sort of sat here watching "I'm a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here." I thought it was a really bad dream. We're talking people who make Leo Laporte look famous. Seriously. Studdering Jon, Downtown Julie Brown ... please, Leo can get on Regis. The "celebrities'" 15 minutes of fame were over 15 years ago. This one is a new low for reality TV. So much so that it makes me wonder why people protested having live executions on TV. They used to say it was gross and too many Americans would be disturbed by it ... have you SEEN Julie Brown without makeup? My god lol. Talk about disturbing ...

I've checked my processor online order. STILL NO WORD. I'm going to call the company tomorrow. This is getting dumb.

Home

I have another entry to upload, don't know if I'll do it or not because it's on my laptop and I really don't feel like setting it up right now. I've been home for about 45 minutes and I'm totally gone.

I want to be asleep. I really do. I had planned on just crashing, because I haven't been sleeping at all and I am dead tired. I walked in the door, brought in my stuff and my dad yelled up that my cousin David, who I haven't heard from in years, is calling me today at 4 PM. It was then 3 PM. So I'm cranky, I'm awake, and I want to fall over ... BADLY.

Friday was torture. We had a four-hour communication class. It was so horrible that I spent the entire time IM'ing with my boss since he was bored in his classroom as well. We went out for dinner and the waitress was cute, so every single guy at our table of 12 was hitting on her. It was kind of funny. Since we're ALL computer geeks it wasn't your standard come ons.

Friday ended with some xbox in my room again. Everyone filed out at around 11. I waited up until 11:30 and my big boss was pounding on my door. He wanted to play xbox. Of course he was very very loaded at the time as well, so I let him in and he played Halo better with a lot of alcohol in his system than I did the first time I played it. It was incredible.

Saturday was a full day of classes on Campus (instead of at the hotel), and it went all right. Just a looooooong day. Got my yearly review and I walked away with a raise. Joked around with one of the higher ups in my first class (she was instructing), then we kept running into each other so my boss told her that I was stalking her. We had a running joke since we kept running into each other after that. We traded off who was stalking who and I think, at last count, she's stalking me now. That was funny and fun.

That was followed by an awards dinner. I didn't get anything, but my big boss told me who was and I was assigned to take the camera from my normal boss (who was up taking pictures) when he was presented with an award. He laid his camera down on some table before I could get there. I almost missed the shot because I was trying to FIND his camera. LOL. Pretty good night ended with Xbox in my room (nearly everyone there), until 1 am.

I kicked their butts on NFL2k3. :)

Today when I was leaving it was weird. Just lots of hugs from everyone. I'm not a "people" person so that was weird. I made sure everyone was taken care of this weekend and I guess the hard work paid off. I was the boy scout, always had extra sodas, dental floss, nail clippers, xbox, you name it. I guess that's the role I fall into a lot and I'm glad it ended on a good note.

My cousin is going to call any minute and now I'm going to go fall over.
