Sunday Afternoon

Just had a burger king ceaser salad sandwich. It was okay. Probably going to screw my stomach up, but hell, it tasted good. I'm about to go take a nap before evening shift. Tomorrow I'm going to put my old ALL in Wonder 8500dv in the new machine and see if that fixes the problem. I don't know what I'm going to do. I have a RMA into ATI right now for the new card and hopefully they'll take the @#$#ing thing and fix it. I'm waiting for their response. If the old card doesn't work, then it's something wrong with the new machine. Not much I can do about that. I can buy a new little unit pretty cheaply and transfer everything over to it. If it's the card, then that only option is sending it to ATI.

If I get a new unit I think I'll get a cheap hard drive and monitor along with a copy of windows xp and turn it into a gaming machine from the other room. TOO MANY COMPUTERS lol. TOO MANY.

Sunday Morning

My niece and nephew left yesterday and I'm down about it. My stomach is settling, which is a plus. A big minus though: yesterday my video card had some distortion. I noticed that the video in wire on the back of the computer wasn't in all the way so I pulled it out and pulled it back in. Bad move. Now the svideo is in black in white. Going through ATI's customer service IS A NIGHTMARE I WOULDN'T WISH ON ANYONE. What's really sad is that my little shuttle xpc unit itself is actually cheaper to replace than the @#$#ing video card inside of it.

So I was pretty out of it last night. I played a lot of monopoly while I was yet again reinstalling windows. Straight monopoly gives me fits. It's too slow. Party monopoly lets everyone roll at once so it breaks the tedious nature of the game. I also hate the traditional auction rule. It screws up my strategy by having to put out money too early. Looks like the very best way to win in traditional is to grab the green row of properties and milk it for everything. For some reason those are totally unavoidable and when maxed out, they'll pull in more money as a group than boardwalk and pike place will.

ENOUGH. I'm addicted. Dammit. I'm going to start breaking the addiction today. None for the whole day.

Last night I had a strange dream. I was goofing off at a video arcade when wrestler Kevin Nash came in. He decided it was "Kevin Nash's Ultimate Goof Off Day" and wanted everyone to join in. Since I don't have to have a label on my goof off days, I declined to leave what I was doing to come celebrate his wonderful idea. I'm like that in real life too, to digress, I don't go for prepackaged gatherings, they tend to piss me off. Back to the story, well, he didn't like me not participating and he decided that I should die.

So I started running.

He and his goons chased me down a street but I escaped by hiding in some garbage cans. There was a zombie in one and I gave him what was left of my money because he didn't have any shoes. I didn't think twice about it because there were goons the size of giants after me. I snuck back into a abandoned ancient temple where a bunch of us lived and thought that would be that.

Well, it wasn't, while watching TV I heard a commotion outside. Big goons wanting to kill me. This time I started running out my own front door. They chased and I somehow made it into the city. I heard fighting behind me but ended up running into city hall, where a group of aliens (aka our city council -- who came to the planet just to run our city in slow motion), had been in slow motion debate for years. No one would notice me there. On my way out the goons saw me again but this time sent werewolves to attack me. So I ran.

They wanted to punish me by turning me into one of them (though, duh, I always thought being a werewolf was kind of cool), so I ran like hell. This time I heard it when the werewolves collided with some other people and a fight broke out. I was able to run home.

There was an aside, like there always are in my cinematic dreams, where I saw the battle. It was zombies fighting the werewolves. There were two shadowy figures that I didn't recognize who were said something like "he must remain protected at all costs ..."

Back home. Getting ready for bed. I heard something strange outside the windows of the temple. I put shoes on and ran out the front door. I remember wondering why they never blocked the front door. I mean put your goons right outside the front door and I'll run into them and that'll be that ... but they never caught on.

That's what did it. Adding logic to this whole thing disrupted my sleep pattern and I woke up.

So there you have it. I'm utterly messed up. I have dreams where I run like "Ricewind" from the "Discworld" novels through stranger worlds than even Terry Pratchett can cook up.

I'm so scared.

Friday Night

So I'm sitting on a Friday night. My sister took my niece and nephew to the drive-in for their last night here. I'm reinstalling windows on the little PC. I'm starting to get down because it is their last night and they are going away tomorrow. I don't know. They used to live here. I miss them being part of my daily life. They've grown so much and as much as I've gotten used to the privacy of them not being here, I'm at an age where I miss having them around. I don't know. I'm mixed up.

In other news, my monopoly obsession continues. I've been sick all week with an upset stomach so any time they're gone, I'm usually in bed. I have my xbox hooked up in my bedroom and I play when I'm lying in bed. Last night I couldn't sleep so I was up until 3AM playing monopoly. I'm earning the high score in every category now, though I HATE classic rules monopoly. Pure monopoly means free parking doesn't get a payout (it's square that can't be bought or sold) and if someone doesn't buy a property it goes to auction. Since there's hardly any extra ways to make money the computer guys don't do 4 houses and a hotel at one time, which is good, but neither can I.

I find myself buying every property I can. If someone gets boardwalk or park place first, I'll simply buy it from them in a trade. Sometimes I'll buy single properties from computer players just so I have one of every housing set. That way no one ever gets an entire set and I can concentrate on my few squares. How good am I? In the last couple of games I've owned every square on the board minutes before bankrupting everyone.

I'm glad I'm not playing this game with other people though. I'm a total prick about it. If I played this way around actual live human beings they'd walk away. That scares me, it really does.

I'm a slave to frigging xbox monopoly.

I need help.

Wednesday Stuff

Playing around with my video editing stuff while I'm passing some time. The kids, my sister & my mom are out shopping and getting pizza for lunch. I'm trying to stick back together segments of (now) commercial free videos that I want to put on DVD. So far it seems like it's doing it okay, though I didn't think it could do this and I had the afternoon planned out to burn 3 or 4 dvds doing it a harder way. Instead, looks like I'll be combining 4 or 5 video files into single files. That works.

Thought about TechTV last night but not in a good way. I haven't been watching in a while. I had finished a 7 or 8 hour shift last night, flipped over to my play screen name and someone sent me a link to the now infamous "artistic" pictures of Cat Schwartz that she accidently posted to her blog and are now floating around the Internet. All I can say is honey, some people were meant to be naked and artistic. Others would be better off wearing some clothes. I'll let you figure out the who's and the whats.

I remember getting linked to a gallery of that nature last year where a girl who looked like Morgan Webb did strange things to a pair of young fine gentlemen. I didn't keep the link, so don't bug me for it, but remember kids, you can only verify your TechTV related porn by asking the subject if they're real. Cat admitted hers in her blog, now if Morgan admits the same thing then, well, uh, I'm pretty sure the entire TechTV male fan base would be scouring the Internet for them.

And NEVER send me anything related to Leo and nudity. Please.

Catching Up

It is Monday morning and I'm catching up. Had one hell of a stressful week followed by another one in a row. Right now I'm half awake and holding on tightly for whatever is going to come today. We had a party for my sister and my niece and nephew yesterday. 40+ people here. Not the time for a stomach to give out and decide that it was going to be on a rampage for the rest of the evening. Thankfully, I tend to avoid interacting at these things. I prefer to hide out under the guise of having computer work to do. Sadly, I kept having to make trips to the downstairs "off limits" bathroom so it was pretty apparent there was something wrong.

Finally found some peppermints and calmed my stomach a bit LATE last night. I wanted to do the other trick of relaxing in a warm bath for a while but my sister and the kids are currently living in Seattle. By the time they would have been settled and asleep, it would have been 3 AM. So I was up early, stomach a little better since I haven't eaten since yesterday afternoon.

Thankfully the Monopoly addiction that set in last night has passed. Yes, I got some "E" rated games on Xbox for the kids to play. One of them was something called "Party Monopoly" that has different boards and rules. I've never been one for Monopoly. When we used to play as kids it would go on forever because no one would ever trade and it would ultimately end when someone stole from the bank or the cat jumped on the board. Come to think of it, we never played it as a family, just once or twice with kids. I now know why.

You HAVE to trade and you have to be rutheless. My whole strategy is to buy every property I land on just to screw over the other players and keep rents down. "Oh, you need this one to complete your holdings? Sorry. Not for sale." I caught on quickly that whenever a computer initiates a trade, you'll be screwed. They promptly put 4 houses and a hotel on each property and you lose more each time you land on it than what you paid for it. In all versions I like grabbing the back right corner. While it's not Park Place or Boardwalk, there's enough spots there and they're worth enough that someone is going to hit them eventually and that'll be that. However, I've won games where all I had was the couple of cheap properties nearest to GO. Good rolls kept me from making fatal mistakes.

I eventually started playing the version where you get dealt a couple of properties before you begin and you can't buy new properties until you've passed GO the first time. If chance is on your side you can grab a couple of nice holdings and be in position to turn those into profit later on. I also play with the "equal housing" rule turned on. So when you build a house in a collection you can't build another one until all the properties in the collection have them. It makes it harder to play (since they go property crazy), but when everyone of your lots has 4 houses and a hotel on it, you're going to roll in the money.

I'm scaring myself too here. 6 hours of monopoly last night did that to me.

Going back to daily strips one of these days. That's a long story for another time and I'm out of here.

Morning.

I have a sinus headache. The cats have been fed. I just have to get out of this chair and make the next move of giving the dogs what the cats didn't eat. Then I have to climb into the shower and get ready for my haircut. Haircut leads to driving my dad to the doctor to pick up his medicine, which leads to getting lunch at Taco Bell or some other place, which leads to 1 hour of work then I have the afternoon off.

Life is like this.

I don't want to start the day.

I'm not depressed. I'm not down. I'm just sort of blah about the world today. I wanted to climb back into bed and sleep for a while. However, I slept in 10 minutes then knew that the dogs would pee all over the kitchen so I got up. That's as far as responsibility goes today I guess. I'm out of step with the world.

I was worried about oversleeping so I gave myself a nightmare I guess. Usually it's just something strange to get me up. This time, in the dream I woke up in a hospital bed. I glanced over and my former fiance was in the next bed. Her mother was there. The mother from hell. I tried to go back in the coma but she saw my eyes flicker. She started yelling at me then she started yelling at me even more as I played games on my PDA as she was screaming. Then I noticed the wedding ring on my finger.

It's SO weird. I haven't thought of either of them in years. I don't care to, I've moved on. But hey, it was indeed the scariest dream I could come up with to wake myself up I guess.

Oh well. I'm slowly but surely getting my body in motion and I'm sort of climbing out of the chair to walk into the structure of the morning.

Help me.

Shoot me.

Just keep that ex the hell out of my dreams ... and her mother too.

Lazy Afternoon

I'm not working tonight and I feel no obligation to do anything of any importance today. My brain is totally numb to the world and I'm going to sit here and spend the rest of the day doing nothing.

Right now I'm watching Steven Spielberg's "1941." Probably his biggest flop ever. I can see why. I saw this movie on ABC nearly 20 years ago. I loved it. It is set in 1941 about a week after Pearl Harbor. It has all the big names in comedy from the early 1980's: John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, John Candy, Tim Matheson (fresh off of "Animal House" with John Belushi). Bigger names in smaller roles: Ned Beatty, Christopher Lee, Robert Stack, Treat Williams ... jam packed for a flop, huh?

I remember I had a crush on Nancy Allen, who co-stars as the airplane obsessed nympomaniac and I was down that while she had intimate scenes, we never actually saw anything. Hey, I was 12 or 13, my hormones were out of control. Cute girl, funny movie, stars filled my eyes ...

So back to the movie. There are so many crazy moments in this movie that work to ME, but don't work anywhere else. Distracting someone by saying, "Look, a baby wolf!", putting panty hose over your head with two oranges in them and screaming "Look, I'm a bug!" and nearly ever other gag in the movie that falls flat with nearly everyone on earth makes me fall out of my chair laughing.

I don't undstand why. I'm probably just demented. Oh well.

Update

Did I mention the Bears?

Tuesday evening the neighbor who shares our backyard called frantically. Bears. Not three, but four, a mother and three cubs were wandering around in her the backyard. We couldn't see them since there are trees blocking the two halves of the backyard.

We get deer a lot. I've only actually seen one in the backyard once. Now that more and more of the forest up here is being cut down, the animals are appearing more and more. This year we've had frogs in the pool, birds in our eaves, the deer, and now bears I guess. I know we've heard them or seen the results of them dumpster diving in the past, but this is the first time anyone has actually seen one in daylight hours.

Sometimes I forget that we're so remote. Sometimes it's kinda scary that when I'm out late and putting the garbage and feel like something's watching me, there probably something out there.

I'm kind of freaked about it. Last night the dogs were going nuts. I stood there with a flashlight on them as they went to the bathroom. We don't have any guns in the house or anything to possible protect against a bear, but I couldn't just let them go out into the unknown if I wasn't willing to be out there with them. It's stupid, I know, but I didn't know and it turned out to be nothing.

The could have beens and might of wases are silly to think about in daylight.

Blogging Quickly

I only have a couple of minutes before the day begins again. I'm on Mike Tyson watch. They put together a HUGE Tyson package and it's going up on the main screen of our service. What does this mean? Well, Monday when the Kobe Bryant situation happened I was alone. It was midday. I had no volunteers on and I had 5 overflow chat rooms and 100+ posts a minute to monitor by myself. While they keep saying that we're giving tools for members to manage their own experience, the first e-mails in my box were from my big boss to get coverage. Last time Tyson was on welcome, well, he made the Kobe mess from Monday look like nothing. If this goes through, it will be big and a nightmare since I only have 4 hours left on schedule between today and tomorrow (I took time off for Saturday).

This has pretty much sucked as a week. While Kobe hit I got my new RAM in this machine. Let me tell you, 256mb of RAM is okay for Windows XP they say. THEY LIE. I have ALWAYS had a problem with systems that didn't have at least a gig of ram with XP. From strange redrawing rates and lines in my video card picture to clicking noises over my sound card. They all go away as soon as you break the 1 gig barrier. I did this on Monday when I had 5 minutes during the Kobe 10 hour ordeal.

Unfortunately, I had reformatted the other PC and this one wouldn't refresh the network connections. I had moved nearly everything from that machine to this machine and reformatted everything over there and repartitioned it. Well, since it wouldn't see the new machine's new partitions, I had to figure out how to move everything that I had moved here onto partitions that had no real info on them then reformat this machine in stages while juggling the data I'd need.

So first pass was reformatting the C: and D: partitions. 2nd pass was move everything from E: to D: then reformatting C: and E:. How did I figure out I had to reformat twice? Because after reformatting and reinstalling C: and D:, windows saw E: had network info on it and refused to see the new machine (AKA my TV PC). MEANWHILE on the other PC, oh I got it formatted and running great ... until last night I went to upgrade ATI's multimedia center. There's an occasional bug in the upgrade that will cause it to totally forget you have a TV Tuner or any sort of TV inputs. You know, the whole purpose is to capture TV and it doesn't help if the flipping thing can't see it.

I was up until 2 am fixing it by reformatting.

It sort of works now. I didn't really check. It locked up during windows updates last night. I don't want to know. I'm taking the day and relaxing.

And writing strips. Whenever I get back we'll be daily again. Obviously, with 2 machines in pieces for 2 days, I haven't been able to even access my stuff. The plan right now is to do make up strips. So if I do strips today, 3 will go up. If it's not until tomorrow, 4, etc.

We'll get back into the swing of things.

Or die trying.

The Joys of Summer

I spent the day trying to get my video capture computer to tape a "$40 a day" marathon on the food network. I finally gave up after 3 and a half hours of hell. I did two things as a result of it:

1) I ordered a directv DVR (powered by TIVO)

2) I reformatted the little machine. My experiment with multipartitions for various things was a failure. I reformatted my two main partitions and switched them. The old D drive is now my C drive, and my old C drive partition is now swap file only. I hope to god I did this right. There's nothing else on that drive except for the swap file. That's how it's going to stay if it works.

I have this nagging feeling that my compact little case is working against me on the heating issue. It could be that my video card is over heating as well. I'm going to move it out of the poorly ventilated desk shelf it's on now and move it back to the center of my video unit. That will open up a whole area for it to vent.

Once I finish doing this machine, I'm going to do the same on my main computer. I know, it's been what? 4 months without a reinstall, I'm about due.

God Help Me.

One of those Mornings.

I was up totally late last night fighting the usual problems with video record. I really don't know what it is. I think it's a problem with the power supply since the darn TV computer will just reboot itself in the middle of recording or watching TV. Sometimes it crashes with odd errors (like it did late last night), which are probably the video card driver's fault. I really don't know. I do know that it recorded "Dead Like Me" last night so I'm in the middle of making myself a DVD of it and the pilot episode.

Last night's episode wasn't as fun as the first. They really need a better opening. However, it picked up and still was weird but not a "Twin Peakish" Weird to be weird. It was weird in a cool sort of way. I'm really bummed that Rebecca Gayheart is leaving the series though. Okay so they replaced her with Laura Harris, who I think was on "24" (though I'll remember her from the Canadian teen soap opera "15" that used to endlessly repeat on Nik in the early 90's), it just isn't the same. Rebecca was a favorite from the old sci-fi show "Earth 2." A show which, if anyone remembers, I'll be surprised. I remember it because the pilot was on when I spent 3 days trying to get windows 95 to run on my oooooooooooooold 486 years ago. That was an issue where a slave/master system on my hard drive to cd was wrong. But that's digressing I think and I'm now lost in memories. Dear god. Help me smite these memories.

I should be typing away at work. I'm not. I'm not awake. I overslept this morning. I mean seriously overslept. My usual morning is wake up at 8 am, put the dogs out, feed the cats, put the dogs in and feed the dogs with whatever wet food the cats didn't eat, clean that up then hop in the shower, get dressed & go to work. I have an hour to do it. Usually I dilly dally and throw in a web browse or blog while I'm waiting for the cats to finish. Today? I woke up at 8:38 am. I had 22 minutes to get to work. I had the cats fed, dogs out and was in the shower before I remembered I wasn't awake enough to grab my clothes for something to change into after the shower let alone a towel. I barely made work and the cats all think I'm nuts, but that's the price you pay for over sleeping.

Oh well 15 minutes left at work.

I feel a nap is in order soon.

Site Updates

If you haven't noticed, we now have a little bit of advertising on the main page. We're participating in the History Channel's "Mail Call" contest until July 20th. While I'm not going to force anyone to click on the links, we do have a branded contest page. I came up with a one day at TechTV little logo for the top of the page and you can actually win prizes from the history channel there. Of course, it should be noted that I have nothing to do with the running of the contest and if you have any issues with the contest or prizes etc. you need to follow the links on those pages and talk to those people.

Will there be more advertising on the site? I don't know yet. Donations aren't working. While bandwidth (THANK GOD) hasn't been TOO Horrible this month so far (as compared to last month when we lost our bandwidth for the month in the first 4 days), I'm not dumb enough to but the girls of TechTV libraries back up just yet. If they come back they'll come back in a format where I'm not going to be hammered too badly by bandwidth per page.

On that note, have a happy 4th.

Waiting ... Yuck

I sold almost all of my stock holdings today. I have mixed feelings about it. They were Tech stocks and I'd probably cry if I ever figured out how much I would have made if I sold them before the market crashed. I was using them like a savings account. Something that I'd never touch and be a source of income should anything ever happen where I needed money fast. I'm sort of glad that I got rid of the older ones because I know the stock will NEVER be what it was worth back in 1999. What I have left were all bought recently and they're currently showing a slight profit, so that's pretty good.

WHY I'm selling is another reason. No sort of insider trading or anything: I need the money for a new satellite dish. My job seems to be requiring me to upgrade my one way dish to a 2 way dish. Even with $100 off for upgrading, it's still $472 to buy the new dish then $60 a month for service after that. I do not have cable and I do not have DSL in my area. I really feel horrible that they're doing this to me and I'm trying to fight it as best I can without losing my job.

The only really good news about the new dish would be that you can network it. So now that AOL is stopping support for my old RIM pager, I can run a network cable through the wall and type from bed on my laptop. While I'll miss my pager like heck when it goes away (no more typing at Wal-Mart -- a frightening thought especially if I'm lost in one again like the other day), at least I'll have an option not to be tied down to this computer late at night.

Work is sending me a computer. Yup, after all these years they decided to do that. Trouble is that it's a piss poor computer. Also daunting is the fact that we have THREE computers upstairs (not counting my laptop) already and I have no need for another one. I'd rather them help me pay for a new dish than a computer that I don't want nor need.

But what do I know?

Victory! Sorta.

So it is early and I have to face work yet. I wanted to blog and say that it actually RECORDED WITHOUT DYING. So I got "Dead Like Me" on video.

I think I was overexposed to all that bug spray. I had dreams last night. Really weird dreams. All of them involved either being back in high school or dying. I'm not sure what would have been worse. In at least one of them I had a broken foot. In another of them, I had to fix a broken septic tank. Is there a connection?

The cats are eating their morning wet food. I'm ready to go jump in the shower. I have to try recording again at 9 am. Doing "Good Eats" for a friend of mine. I got a stack of 50 dvd-r on sale so all I have to do is go buy sleeves or cases for them and I'm all set. That's about the only thing that's been stable lately; well except when I forget to click an option like return to menu after playing a clip; or when I forget to put in neat background music for the menu system ... or when it rerenders a clip and totally messes things up.

Okay sometimes it has issues. But isn't that the way of the world?

My best friend gave me some encoder that all the file traders use. Trouble is, the frigging thing can't read MPEG files produced by ATI's encoder. I didn't have the heart to tell her that. so SHHH. It's our little secret. She's on vacation for another week and a half. It's also our little secret that I lost the three Good Eats from the past week because of the whole cropping issue. I love video. Just love it.

Had a Taco Bell Ceaser Salad burrito last night. It was essentially a Ceaser salad wrapped in a burrito bread. Well it had red strip crunchie things instead of tomatoes, which was just fine with me. It was pretty yummy but expensive as hell (and BIG!). I'm not one for salads, but I could get used to eating those damn things. Why? Because, if you haven't already figured it out, I have a feeling I'm totally whacked in the head these days.

Read then next three days worth of strips and you'll agree.

Oh well, shower calls. Hopefully a beautiful Asian girl won't burst into the bathroom with love in her eyes right before the septic tank explodes. See. I told you I was nuts.

Tuesday Night

My comic shop is closed THIS week and not NEXT week. So my whole evil plan to get the hell out of here on Thursday is out the window. Dear god.

In other news, our kitchen has been invaded by big black ants. I don't know where they're coming from. I noticed them big time yesterday. I went on a killing spree and used up all of our direct ant spray getting rid of a mass of them. The other stuff we have is to spray the doors and windows, which is a crock because the ants are obviously IN THE HOUSE ALREADY and there's no need to spray their escape routes because they're perfectly happy where they are.

I could go into this whole thing about I hate killing things (and I do) and how it goes back to when I was 12 and was riding in the back of the car with my sister and a great aunt. A moth was in the car with us. All she had to do was roll down the window and let it go. Instead she smashed it. 7 years later she had a stroke while driving and smashed herself like a bug. I don't know if the analogy works, but I've always picked bugs up with a glass with a paper towel over it and put them outside.

... so a killing spree just isn't me.

So why do I keep checking our new ant traps? I want to see if the little suckers are eating the stuff and taking them back to the lair to infect others and kill the queen. I do. They got into my raisin bran. So I went to fill my cut with stuff and I noticed that THE RAISINS WERE MOVING.

Dear god. They took my cereal. The one food that I can rely on to make my life good. My only snack. My friend. My ... okay so I'm pissed that they got into everything and spoiled my breakfast.

SO THEY MUST DIE.

Now I'm sitting here watching my TV computer. I'm trying to save "Dead Like Me" to mpeg. This is the 4th attempt at it. I think I tricked my computer by saying "Oh, I want to record now" about 2 minutes before I wanted to record. At that very moment, the frigging thing crashes. It rebooted just in time for me to start recording. Now it's 32 minutes into it (out of 1 hour and 15 minutes), and I'm praying that the frigging thing doesn't die again. I really don't want to stay up until 2 am to try this again.

I tried it last night for the movie "Playmate of the Apes." I couldn't sleep all night. I woke up at 5 AM and of course the frigging thing had crashed during the night. I love life. I really do.

I'm loving this show, though I have it memorized now. I love the main character. She's sly and she's a pain in the ass. I think I love her.

You can love her too on Showtime every Friday night at 10PM ET.

You've been warned.

Tuesday Morning

Watching that hoplessly awful show "Dawson's Creek." Missed the first of the two episodes this morning because I was out getting my haircut with my dad. Looks like we missed fedex and a number of calls while we were out.

Somewhere along the line I also missed the fact that we're being linked from FARK again. This time from their pay site. They're linking to the first Dell Steve strip and it isn't that bad bandwidth wise so far because, well, let's face it, it's their PAY site and no one in their right mind actually pays for FARK. If the bandwidth gets TOO bad, I'll just pull the page for a while. I'm really getting tired of being linked in some way from FARK at the start of each month and see their links kill my bandwidth. Do I have to remind anyone of the great boobie scare from last month?

Had a non-boobie talk about the site last night with an old friend. It was nice. Mainly my mail these days is either people looking to hook up with Kevin or people who want me to put the Morgan gallery back up. I have no control over Kevin, I don't even know the guy, but the Morgan library is my control -- and something that's staying down for a while. I've had 0 donations to the bandwidth fund (as expected, it's just there to guilt really), and the Morgan gallery ain't coming back until I REALLY want to kill my bandwidth or need the hits again.

I'm trying to set something up for Thursday. I have to go down the river and check my comic shop. I want to see if anyone is around Thursday night down that way so I can get the hell out of this house (and have comics to read on Friday), one way or another since I"ll go down Thursday morning if I can't at Thursday night.

Friday is the holiday and we're not doing anything big. I'm working and it's the usual cookout with one of my parents' friends. I'll probably hide out all day and let that be that.

Oh well, brain went out the window.
