More Catching Up ...

Company wide reorg.

Sports had too many people.

Suddenly I'm in parenting.

Yah, me, with no kids and no plans for kids, is in working in an area devoted to bringing up kids.

It's different. I've known how to do sports for 11 years down. It's a new challenge, sure, but it's also a new system with it's own quirks and just a lot of pressure coming into it. I have to do well. I have to shine. I don't want to lose this job.

That's the big thing, I see sports like an unpowered treadmill where it was up to you to go as far and as fast as you wanted to. Parenting is different. The treadmill has a motor and it's going to go as far and as fast as it wants even if you're lying on the floor after being thrown off of the damn thing.

Is it better? Pressure is down, while work is up. I don't know when I'll relax enough to do new strips. But my blood pressure *is* down so take that as a good thing.

Anyway, I'm back blogging for now. If anyone's still out there, the site isn't dead. You can count on that. :)

Catching Up

Happy new year and all that.

My dad got out of the hospital about two days before new year's. Spent the holiday working as I'm not recognizing the celebration of the New Year as anything more than an excuse for most people to get loaded. I'm a non-drinker, who cares?

Today is a busy day. It's about 15 degrees outside. The car is warming up and I'm getting ready to take my dad over to the doctor. I'm dropping him off then picking him up so I can rush back here and be here when Schwan's comes for our food order. I am also waiting for the new DVD burner, which allegedly will be here today. I'm HOPING that it will burn these dvds at 4x since I have a huge backlog of stuff that just has to go out asap. The 4x dvd+r's that it will allegedly burn at 8x will be here tomorrow. So hopefully everything goes smoothly. Then again, it's me and a computer and ... oh dear god.

As you can see, I've been doing strips again. Yes, I'm on a weird kick. I'm not writing THAT far in advance as I want to be able to have the strips reflect world events. One of these days I'll get around to actually watching TechTV again for it to reflect *TechTV* events ... but my god, the Call for Help-a-Thon (from what I saw of it) was a travisty that only the die-hards on Leoville loved.

Case in point: Science guy. Science guy talks science with Leo. Who is standing between them with a "I don't understand a word that these dudes are talking about, get me out of here" look? Cat. Why? T&A. Large amounts of T&A (well between Leo's and Cat's ...). Why were they using Cat as T&A? Because they couldn't afford real models. Which is sad. But such is the state of TechTV these days.

I'm out the door in a minute, stay warm, and by god, pray for TechTV.
