More Site Updates

Okay, we're still processing updates. Here's your quick links:

Seasons 1-5
Seasons 6-10
Seasons 11-15
Seasons 16-20

The rest of the seasons will be up in the "director's commentary" format later this week. If you like the look I sure would appreciate feedback. You can e-mail me at any time. :)

And if you don't like the look, the old links to get to the seasons will still work. So http://www.reallycoolsite.org/1.htm will go to season one, 2.htm will go to season 2, etc.

With that, I'm back to programming.

Site Redesign

If you notice something fishy going on with both my blog and my main website over the next few weeks ... well, yah, we're taking the plunge and doing the big redesign. The big redesign looks a lot like the old redesign except no more Javascript menus. I loved them, however, they were getting to be too much work to keep up with. So I have a design in mind to replace them.

What does that mean to you? Nothing, really, other than parts of both sites will be down while I implement the redesign this week. I think the redesign will look great, and for the main site, implement ideas I've wanted to do for quite a long time.

Quick Q&A with all the changes going on:

Q: Why are you still including TechTV on your site? Aren't they, like, dead?
A: This site started out as a TechTV tribute site. I'm very proud of my work and as long as people are coming to see my work, I'd be stupid to take it down.

Q: Why is the new series set in the past?
A: Right now all the shows I watched on TechTV/G4TechTV are on hiatus as they move to L.A. This season is intended to bridge the story gap between the old and the new. It's also a sneaky way to play with all the old characters one more time before retiring most of them.

Q: So why haven't you put up new strips in a while?
A: Time. This has been the busiest summer of my life and I haven't left the house. Seriously. It has been non-stop at work since June. I'll write new strips as I can.

Q: I want my G4TechTV/TechTV/General Site linked on your site. How do I do it?
A: Write me at Jamesknine@gmail.com (note the NEW e-mail address), and I'll be happy to help.

Q: I used to work for TechTV and I'd like pictures to use on my site. Will you help?
A: Sure, again, write me at Jamesknine@gmail.com. And please note, if you've written in the past and I didn't reply, please try again. Saying my old mail server SUCKED would be a large understatement.

Hopefully that gets most of the questions out of the way. But if you have more, please use the comment feature or my e-mail.

Kill Me. Ugg. Saturday Again.

Just don't get me started. I replaced the shuttle xpc sn41g2 with a Biostar box. Same concept (mini-form factor), but a bit more mature and an inch longer so OF COURSE I have to buy a whole new bag for it. The Biostar seems to be more stable than the Shuttle but we'll have to see when I game some this afternoon. I'm still in the process of putting everything on this system and torturing the hell out of it.

I thought I was in the last stages of putting things together and formatting and then ... well, when it rains it Hurricanes. My mother's computer is coming up with a "back up the data on your hard drive because it's dead, MOHAHAHAHAHA!" error. So the rest of my day will be spent putting a new hard drive into that machine and hopefully getting it to boot from the damn backup disks. Don't ask. My mom won't listen to me about computers so she leaves them on during lightning storms, brown outs, etc. and her machines die. You can't change it.

I was looking forward to my day off today. I really was. I was going to get everything done. I was even going to go out. But now ... dear god. She SO owes me McDonalds or something fabulously horrible for breakfast. I'm going to need it.

Shoot me.

Giving Up

I'm done. Finished. Watching 'Serendipity.' Watched 'the Sure Thing' earlier and 'Not Another Teen Movie' before that. Worked 11 hours today. That's 25 hours for the week so far and only 15 to go. This is Tuesday night, isn't it? I'm not sure. It feels later in the week. It feels like late fall, almost Christmas in fact. So strange, so not like early August.

Someday someone is going to notice me watching this movie and will ask me what's wrong. I really don't know what's wrong tonight. Well I do know, but I'm not going to open up to the whole world and let it all out. I'm being much too private lately. Just not ready to let the whole world in just yet.

I know things, yet I can't speak. I feel things, yet I have to hide every stupid emotion.

... and now I'm lost in this movie again. Dammit.

Saturday Morning and I Don't Care

I was up late last night. Nope, wasn't the fear of that god-awful VH-1 Michael Jackson movie keeping me up, it was Microsoft Windows Update. For whatever reason it was taking HOURS to download 18megs of files. I finally shut it off somewhere around 1am and went to bed.

My folks are out. I know this because they woke me up by smashing around the upstairs for a while, getting the dogs upset, and then slamming their car doors. I hear all of this because my bedroom, for whatever reason, picks up noise like a black hole picks up everything else. If someone farts in the living room, I'm going to hear it in surround sound in my bedroom. Scary.

So I pulled myself out of bed and the first thing that hit me was the stench from the litter boxes. I do say plural since we have 2 upstairs for the 4 cats tha live up here. It was horrible. I've been too busy this week (I was covering for 3 people at work. Oh yah, with me, we only have 4 people so it was me against the world.), to do anything about it. So I got both litter boxes and threw them off the deck to the pool area so I could hose them down.

CLONK.

That broke one of them. I wasn't amused. I swore and swore and swore. In swearing I realized that my sweat pants were starting to fall down because I had put them on backwards. I solved this problem by swearing some more. I think the dogs think I have a serious swearing problem now. It's okay, I know about their cat food addiction. It all evens out.

I called my mom, she's allegedly picking up a new litterbox, made sure something called "Busty Cops" was recording off of my tivo and onto my hard drive (wonder where I get all my ideas? B-movies baby, B-movies), and now I'm sitting here sulking until she gets home. Iago-cat is sitting next to me. He's not impressed. For he's the king of sulk.

God help the day.

Friday Night Blahs

So it's Friday night and I'm reformatting the little computer. Well, I've reformatted, right now I"m doing windows updates. My Windows Service Pack 1 disk died so I'm sitting here waiting for it all to dl again.

The VH-1 Michael Jackson movie is on the other computer. I'm very afraid, so very afraid. It's so plain, in fact what's really bugging me is that it's TOO plain. It is trying to white wash everything without trying to offend anyone. I think it's so bad that I'm compelled to watch the whole thing, just to see how bad it gets. Right now it can't get no worse ...

Monday.

We've had company all weekend. My godmother came up for some reason. I really hate it when we have company because my mom's brain goes out the window. She puts on a fake front that's really pissing me off and I come off as the bad guy because my mom pretends that the way she's acting is how she normally acts and the company is usually to stupid to realize it.

Right now she's up and messing up my feeding schedule with the animals. She's never out of bed until 9 AM normally. 10 more than often. Right now she's up and about. She put half the animals out already. One of the cats is missing so Thrashie got 3 plates of food. Someone's standing in the kitchen yelling at the dogs. LOL. Now this is funny. The dogs only respond to me. I'm not moving. Screw them. They can yell at the dogs all they want.

So what's the prime example of how fake everything is? We have a fully stocked fridge. We NEVER have any food and my upstairs fridge is overflowing. Something stinks to high heaven in there but for the life of me I can't find it because my mom's moved food upstairs to pretend like this is how we normally live.

My mom has this keen sense of denial about smells. Well, about the world really, but smells are her worst thing. If the cat poops and it's so smelly that it makes people barf or gag (which happens quite a lot with a diabetic cat), my mom won't smell it. In fact, she'll claim everyone else has a problem because she can't smell it. We could have a gas leak downstairs and she'll blow herself up one day because she'll deny smelling anything. So that fridge is going to stink until I can get in there this afternoon and clear out things.

My dad's in on the action now. His doctor's appointment is at 8. The place doesn't open until 8. They literally don't unlock the doors until 8. He's got it in his head that he has to be the 15 minutes early without fail. So he's been lying to all of us lately about his appointment times, subtracting the 15 minutes. Right now he's having a fit in the kitchen now because it's 7:33AM and they haven't left yet to be there at 7:45AM.

Had a big fight last night with my mom over her acting stupid. It's hot in the kitchen. The only AC in the house is downstairs or in the bedroom. Instead of hanging out in the back bedroom like they did the night before, she and my godmother insisted on sitting in the kitchen all night *complaining about how hot it was.* So they opened both doors. One of the doors doesn't have a screen so the animals were roaming around in and outside and the dogs were having a field day. They didn't even try to stop the dogs from barking, which was driving me nuts, and when I went into the kitchen to put a stop to it, I got chewed out because it was hot in the kitchen and "there's nothing you can do to micromanage barking." I actually told my mother to shut up. I didn't say anything else, but I've never told her to shut up before. I'm not usually rude like that, but she was being so fake and such an idiot last night that she had it coming.

So it's morning and my nerves are on edge anyway. My boss was off all last week. It was quiet. It was nice. It was too quiet. I left work yesterday with a total of 4 new e-mails. Any bets it's over 100 forwards from my boss when I sign on in 19 minutes?

Help me.
