You may or may not have noticed some activity on this site in the past week or so. I not-so-quietly decided to make some changes and really, on Facebook at least, I can’t shut up about it. I’ve released a new issue to a series you’ve all forgotten about to wrap it up and I’m in the process of writing a zero issue and a new version of issue one for my current series. I have huge plans in my brain, you know, HUGE plans, but as with anything, I’ll stay grounded because I know I’ll eventually get distracted and amble on to other things for months at a time before remembering that “hey, I do a comic!”
Right now I’m converting the current series from the web only format I had launched it with to a more traditional comic book style. I’ve messed up the margins on purpose. I in no way shape or form want to make a “real” comic book here. I’m not going to submit them for print so I’m setting a style for myself that looks good on the web with our current layout and will look good on their own should I throw them in PDF form again. That means converting the current Amazing Incredible series and the short-lived Timmy revival series that you’ve seen (now renamed series 05 and series 06) to the new style using our current models.
Why explore the Timmy series again? I don’t know. It bugged me. That one came when I had a spark of life and I really had something to say. I was going to rewrite the original “The Media Elite” in new form — revamp the old series to a new style and tell NEW stories to launch a… yeah. It didn’t work. I got distracted and things fizzled. I didn’t learn from @insanity before it, which was the same concept but I managed to get nearly 20 stories out of it), and it really bugged me that it didn’t have a proper ending. So now it does and it establishes the new continuity. A bit darker, a bit more grown up, but still my world.
The rest of the issues? Well, yeah. Eventually I’ll fill in series 01, 02, 03 and 04 with shiny new copies of the old issues. I’m sticking to the original text as much as possible where I can. No major changes except to the art (the same can be said with series 05 and 06 as I convert them), and taking out real world references so I don’t get butt sued by anyone with a grudge. But for now, I’m doing 13 issues with a mix of new stuff and old and we’ll see where I go from there.
And now I’m going back to work on the real job. See you in the morning.
