Representatives of Jose “Chille” DeCastro continued their investigation into the actions of DeCastro’s former business partner Collin “Project Constitution” Campbell on Monday with a new YouTube Community Post.
DeCastro’s representatives encouraged their followers to send in any videos they have in which Campbell allegedly “doxed” DeCastro. They also put out a call for screenshots in which Campbell allegedly collected donations using DeCastro’s name and image.
Doxing is defined as sharing someone else’s personal information without that person’s permission in a coordinated effort of online harassment and intimidation. There are no current federal laws against doxing.
The posting follows attorney Michael Ehline’s bombshell announcement on Sunday that DeCastro claimed that he had been visited by “Federal Investigators” who were investigating either a single person or a group of people for identity theft.
Seeking proof that Campbell “doxed” DeCastro may prove to be problematic as the first supposed “doxing” of DeCastro came last summer as Host Dan of the Welsh News Network exposed pictures of DeCastro’s residence on his WNN live stream while Campbell was still working with DeCastro.
DeCastro himself would later expose his own residential address (a former marijuana dispensary in a strip mall near the Las Vegas strip), on a livestream from Pennsylvania Department of Motor Vehicles last summer when he inadvertently flashed his address to his viewers during that livestream; again, while Campbell was still working with DeCastro.
Campbell most recently included the address for DeCastro’s current residence – the Clark County, Nevada, Detention Center – in criminal charges he pressed against DeCastro in Maryland and in his application for a protection order against his former business partner.
Under Nevada’s current anti-doxing legislation, a victim of doxing can bring civil action against someone if that person shares their personal information online with the intent to aid criminal offenses.
DeCastro’s information requests seem to be attempting to find evidence of Campbell illegally impersonating DeCastro in soliciting funds on his behalf and then distributing DeCastro’s information as part of a continued harassment campaign. This evidence would then presumably used in a civil lawsuit against Campbell.
No lawsuits have been brought by DeCastro against Campbell at this time.
