There were no “winners” in the race for GoFundMe champion on Friday as none of the GoFundMe campaigns we cover received donations on Friday.
With all of the major players (DeCastro, Hendry, Long Island Audits, Direct D) apparently taking the day off and with no one bothering to promote their campaigns, no one should be surprised that word of mouth alone was not enough to bring in even the most meager of donations to these once popular crowd funding campaigns.
There really isn’t a reason for it. Government checks came in on the first, with many of these auditors preying on the financially weakest in our society, somebody, anybody, should have given a pitiful donation to these funds, but they didn’t.
While we expected days to come like this when we first started to track the campaigns, we didn’t expect it to come so soon. Especially with Jose “Chille” DeCastro getting so much attention from his massive attack campaign on Justice of the Peace Ann Zimmerman and LIA making a full court press to promote his Attorney Shield endorsement project.
Tune in tomorrow to see if things rebound, but for now, please remember our own anemic GoFundMe campaign to fund living expenses, food, and continued production of this newspaper. Those wishing to contribute can do so at: https://gofund.me/b8144e31
