An impromptu debate broke out during Wednesday’s edition of Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s live stream, hosted by Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young as he was joined by Arty of Arty’s Corporate Fiction.
Young had just completed a look at a Seattle area police officer’s altercation with a bus driver from a Tik Tok video, when he decided to take guests using the Streamyard software. After two guests shared conspiracy theories and support for DeCastro, Arty was allowed on panel for a debate with Young.
The debate of sorts started with Young updating the audience that he had not heard from DeCastro in three days and was unsure of DeCastro’s current status.
Young, oblivious to who Arty was or of his YouTube channel, had a long discussion with Arty over DeCastro’s recent video where he initially said he “learned his lesson” and called his behavior in court during his trial for obstructing an officer and interference in a traffic stop inexcusable. The video then saw DeCastro blaming his actions on Justice of the Peace Ann Zimmerman and improper representation of his attorney, Michael Mee.
The YouTuber agreed with Arty that DeCastro should have taken the full blame for his actions and while Mee and Zimmerman both had roles to play in DeCastro’s failure, DeCastro’s actions fall squarely on his shoulders, and he should take the blame for them.
The pair could not agree on anything else, including Young’s assertions that Officer Branden Borque lied “three times” when he testified that DeCastro did not back up or minimally backed up in response to Borque’s orders. Young claimed that Borque knowingly lied, while Arty argued back that a bad memory or faulty memory did not show the intent to deceive, therefore Borque did not lie.
Young pressed Arty on if he thought that the police could ever be in the wrong when it came to filming. Arty replied that if the police had arrested someone for simply filming in a public place as an example of when they would be in the wrong and should be held accountable.
The two sparred for roughly 20 minutes before Arty left the panel. Afterwards, Young became somewhat aware of Arty’s identity, after many negative comments towards Arty in the side chat but asked DeCastro’s fans to be respectful to all the guests they had on panel.
Some fans of DeCastro have criticized Young for failing to promote DeCastro’s merchandise, cash apps and GoFundMe campaigns, resulting in less than $100 taken in combined GoFundMe donations Wednesday night. While others find Young’s complete lack of a sales push refreshing, as months of DeCastro’s nightly live infomercials have left them wanting.
Both sides of DeCastro’s fandom criticized Young heavily for featuring an anti-auditing viewpoint on air Wednesday night.
