Why is a lawyer (@marcorandazza) abusing your platform rules to accept money for legal services without paying the fees required for such transactions? #KarenRead #JohnOKeefe #JusticeForJohnOKeefe https://t.co/b6EQPBUVRz
Reporter Grant Smith Ellis is reporting that attorney Mark Randazza is attempting to intervene in the Karen Read case again on behalf of a pro-Karen Read Facebook group.
The services of Attorney Marc Randazza have apparently been obtained by a group calling itself “Justice For Officer John O’Keefe & Karen Read-Turtleboy Official” on Friday in an attempt to appeal Judge Beverly J. Cannone’s ruling to establish a “buffer zone” around the court house during the up-coming Karen Read trial.
Randazza has apparently assured the group that they have standing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to appeal Cannone’s ruling. The group had previously crowd-funded over $6,000 to hire Randazza to intervene in Read’s murder trial. Randazza filed a motion on their behalf on Thursday, but had the motion denied as outside attorneys are not allowed to intervene in criminal court cases.
In this case they’re claiming that the decision to establish a 200-foot “buffer zone” around the courthouse during Karen Read’s murder trial is unconstitutional. Despite the order blocking both sides from protesting on behalf of their causes, the group is apparently outraged that the order prevents the repeat of protests held last summer on the steps of the courthouse by the “Free Karen Read” movement organized by blogger “Turtleboy” Aidan Kearney (Turtleboy).
Turtleboy famously used a megaphone to insult and harass witnesses entering the courthouse during rallies before Karen Read’s court appearances during the summer of 2023. His actions as leader of the “Free Karen Read” movement later saw him charged with multiple felonies for witness intimidation in the fall of 2023.
It is unclear if Randazza has actual standing to appeal Judge Cannone’s decision as of press time.
