Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney announced on Tuesday on his twitter page that he succeeded in his quest to be listed on the Supreme Judicial Court’s registered media list.

Reporter Grand Smith Ellis confirmed Kearney’s inclusion on the list, claiming that Kearney’s attorney, Tim Bradl, was rumored to have pulled strings to have his client included on the list. Smith Ellis also claimed that other members of the list would be officially protesting Kearney’s inclusion.
Theoretically, the inclusion on the list of registered media personalities and news outlets will make Kearney eligible to attend the on-going trial of Karen Read. Kearney currently serves as the unofficial propaganda minister for the defense and is facing multiple felony witness intimidation charges in relation to the ongoing murder trial.
Kearney has appeared outside of the courthouse providing coverage of the proceedings to his viewers but had previously been unable to enter during hearings in the trial. As mention of Kearney and his involvement in the case has been banned during the trial – unless witnesses directly describe harassment by Kearney – it will be interesting to see Judge Beverly J. Cannone’s reaction to having Kearney facing the camera in the standing room only area devoted to credentialed journalists.
The blogger turned credentialed media personality is apparently eligible to compete for one of the ten allotted slots for journalists starting on May 8, 2024.
Update: Grant Smith Ellis reported late Tuesday night that Kearney did not gain a slot in Wednesday’s press pool.
