Monday saw mixed results in courtroom action for Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney (Turtleboy) as a Judge declined to issue sanctions for his attorney and another Judge declined to grant Turtleboy the ability to release controversial information about the woman he allegedly assaulted in December.

Reporter Grant Smith Ellis reported that the judge overseeing the request by special prosecutor Ken Mello to have sanctions placed on Turtleboy’s lawyer Tim Bradl failed on Monday declined to do so, stating that a report to the Board of Bar Overseers was the appropriate place for a report to discipline Bradl.
Mello was attempting to have Bradl sanctioned as he told the jail in which Turtleboy is currently incarcerated that Turtleboy supporter Jen Altman was an attorney and should have unmonitored calls. Bradl described it as a simple mistake that was corrected after weeks of unmonitored communication between the pair.
The Judge stated that if she was provided information that Bradl’s affidavit and statement to the court were proven false, she would then exercise the power to sanction Bradl.

Today, jailed #TurtleBoy blogger Aidan Kearney lost a motion to amend a Domestic Violence restraining order to allow Kearney to publish confidential DCF documents about his victim.
Time will tell if Jess --a reporter who calls Kearney "Daddy"-- will do so on his behalf. https://t.co/0p2VHixqrp
Ellis and others also reported that Turtleboy lost a motion to amend his Domestic Violence restraining order to allow him to publish confidential files from the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families concerning his alleged victim and her children.
Judge Paul J. McCallum ruled against Turtleboy’s motion, stating that it was not a violation of his first amendment rights to block the publication of confidential information concerning the alleged victim of his crimes.
Turtleboy is still facing charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and intimidation of a witness charges from a December incident in which he allegedly assaulted a now ex-girlfriend. That incident resulted in his current incarceration as he was found to have violated the conditions of his release on multiple felony charges in relation to his time as the leader of the “Free Karen Read” movement.
