The so-called “Turtleboy Ticket” of Rita Lombardi, Trish Boyden and Jennifer M. O’Donnell lost two out of three elections in Canton, Massachusetts, on Tuesday with only Boyden emerging victorious in a race for a seat on Canton’s select board.
"It's not about the message, it's not about the issues, you just tell them who to vote for."@DoctorTurtleboy wants the people of Canton (where he does NOT live) to grab your friends, regardless of how you feel about the issues, and vote the "TURTLEBOY TICKET" 🥴 pic.twitter.com/Gcb3WhZpXn

All three had been endorsed by Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney (Turtleboy), who does not live in the Canton area. They were inspired to run in elections for the Canton Select Board and the Canton School Committee based on their belief that the state mishandled the Karen Read murder case.
Read’s trial for the murder of boyfriend John O’Keefe is set to begin later this month with Kearney himself facing multiple felony charges of witness tampering allegedly on behalf of Read. O’Donnell, Lombardi and Boyden have been vocal supporters of both Turtleboy and Read, appearing at protests on behalf of both over the past year.
Canton saw an unofficial 34% turnout rate (roughly 6,106 votes for the 7 Canton precincts), for Tuesday’s election. Boyden was elected to a spot on Canton’s Select Board, while Lombardi lost her bid for a spot on the same board, and O’Donnell lost her bid for a spot on the Canton School Committee.
While winning one of the two open seats on the Canton Select Committee is a tremendous boon for the political influence of Turtleboy, losing the other open seat may limit the power he has over the board, as he had previously stated an interest in having allies on the Select Committee to influence politics in the area.
As it stands, Boyden can counter the decisions of Brian Albert, a witness in the read case, who also serves on the select committee and has been described as an “enemy” of Turtleboy by his followers.
Albert’s seat was not on the line in Tuesday’s elections.
