In a sign that Jose “Chille” DeCastro has lost influence over his own program, Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young offered high praise for known DeCastro enemies Josh Abrams and James “James Freeman” Springer (Freeman) on his Sunday night broadcast.
Young, perhaps forgetting his place as backup host of DeCastro’s program while DeCastro is incarcerated, prominently featured a Freeman video in which he praised Freeman’s innovative technique for dealing with a city official who questioned why he was wandering around a government building.
Freeman was taking part in an audit of the Chelsea, Massachusetts, City Hall with Josh Abrams and others when he was by himself and encountered a woman who asked what he was doing filming outside of an office. The YouTuber pretended to call his supervisor to see how much information about his “investigation” of the building he could share with the woman.
While it didn’t stop someone in the building from ultimately calling the police on the group, Young had high praise for Freeman’s innovation, later spreading that praise to the flamboyant actions of Abrams, who jokingly tried to arrest Freeman.
Young continued to heap praise on Abrams, who used humor to deescalate a possibly tense situation with the police on scene, for several minutes in a surreal moment that drew backlash from DeCastro’s followers in the side chat as Abrams and DeCastro are historically at odds with one another.
Abrams was the subject of DeCastro’s ill-fated Massachusetts based federal civil rights lawsuit in 2022, with DeCastro claiming that Abrams both harassed and defamed him in a conspiracy featuring Kate Peter and her so-called “Troll Mafia.”
While Abrams was not listed in DeCastro’s revival of that case in California Superior court, it was well known that Abrams was on the list of those that DeCastro would “never forgive” the Massachusetts based auditor for turning his back on DeCastro in 2022 and defending nemesis Kate Peter.
Freeman and DeCastro also have had their issues, with DeCastro accusing Freeman of being an idiot for his views on reasonable articulable suspicion, however tensions had been cooling between the two in recent days. Freeman even went on to defend DeCastro in a recent video – in which he said it pained him to do so – as he felt that DeCastro shouldn’t have been singled out for having his phone taken away in a recent court hearing.
The fact that Young used DeCastro’s channel to praise his enemies did not sit well with DeCastro’s fans and it remains to be seen how DeCastro, who has been notoriously protective of his channel, will react to Young’s betrayal.
