So it’s a bit after noon on Friday the 26th of September.
There is no deal in the financial crisis.
John McCain is now going to debate.
All I can say is that this is a win win for McCain.
If he does badly tonight, then he has the excuse that “I’m sorry, I was too busy saving the economy to prepare for this.”
If he does well tonight (as his campaign has already released JPGs advertising him as winning the debate tonight on his web page!), then it’s “I told you so, after all that preperation, Barack Obama is not qualified to debate, let alone be president!”
The best outcome for Democrats would be for him not to show tonight. He’s a good debater, they say, as much as his words and his actions have been so erratic for the past few months, they say he can debate in his sleep so there is no expectation here for him. Obama, on the other hand, has to hit a home run tonight. He literally has to destroy McCain in order to get anything out of this debate.
He’s not going to do that. He’s too nice.
So, win win McCain is my view. But does anyone care what I have to say?
