I don’t know if I’m going to keep up with these blogs, or how long this one will be. I do need to get back into writing. So we’ll see where this goes.
Day two was interesting. The first thing I discovered was that my work-issued computer actually has a screen SMALLER than my iPad Pro. It’s also harder to read, since the print is slightly smaller. While you can adjust the sizes of the fonts now on Windows, by doing so, you scale the interface up and you decrease the actual space you have to work with for programs.
I offloaded some things over to the iPad because of this. Note taking, Asana and other things will be done over here. I’m getting used to that right now. The keyboard is tiny (it’s a $10 Bluetooth keyboard), and I’ll probably be eventually tempted to buy the $400 “convert the iPad Pro to a real computer” case (with keyboard and trackpad), but for now, I don’t have $400 and other things on the list before that.
I also got a ton done on the first day. I got most of my random notepad notes converted over to Asana spaces. It’s a fancier Trello for those asking. It’s just a little easier to do and work had a space already set up for our projects.
Today I have 6 meetings. I’ll take notes on the iPad and see how that works. I do want to get a bit more organized and hopefully this is the way to get me on track for where I want to be.
I do want to note that I will eventually build another super computer. I will have a giant monitor again (though not a 55” 4K TV) and I’ll go back to some of those projects (so yes, comics will return). I am taking a break right now to focus on work and taking some time to myself while I have a massive project to do for the next few months.
With that, I’m off to work. Have a wonderful day.
