Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney has been a formidable opponent over the last year to anyone who was seeking to stop his “journalistic” actions and using of his followers to attack and harass his targets.
Winners and Losers of 2023: Turtleboy
As we covered in the “Winners and Losers of 2023: Turtleboy” article, he used last year to propel himself to local (and some claim national) fame by taking on local celebrities and others in the guise of “journalism.” He would show up to their homes, again claiming to be seeking “interviews” and engage in otherwise abusive interactions. When the police were called, as demonstrated by an incident with celebrity chef Mike Fucci, Turtleboy would avoid charges because of his fame as a journalist. He explained to the police that his actions were simply a part of his job.
Turtleboy’s connection with Karen Read propelled him to stardom unlike anything he had ever found before. His insistence that there was a vast conspiracy by Massachusetts police to frame Karen Read resonated with locals and brought dozens of people to his protests.
A serious documentary about Turtleboy’s life had been pitched before Turtleboy ended his friendship with a Karen Read associate who allegedly introduced the blogger to Read’s camp. It was confirmed on Monday that it was a Netflix production and it had been canceled due Turtleboy’s recent arrests.
Tuesday’s court hearing also revealed that the connection between Read and Turtleboy was stronger than previously revealed. It came out that there is an active grand jury looking into the connection between the two and focusing on payments Read’s brother allegedly has made to Kearney that covered, among other things, his monthly car payments.
Turtleboy also admitted that he had distributed revenge porn in the past, had multiple affairs, and was not above using any means necessary to find information about the families of those he was at odds with if he felt “threatened” by them as part of his journalistic duties.
Furthermore, he admitted that on the night of the alleged assault, he convinced the woman to have sex with him before having her take abortion pills. His plan was to then leave as she passed the fetus, taking no responsibility to care for the woman as he felt she was lying about the pregnancy.
After having the protection order granted, Turtleboy’s attorney then asked for permission for Turtleboy to distribute damaging information that was improperly obtained about the victim and her children as part of Turtleboy’s “journalistic” duties. The Judge ruled against this proposal.
Even with Monday’s revelations, Turtleboy remains extremely popular in Massachusetts. Since being incarcerated for violating his release agreement, Turtleboy has used social media to continue to direct his followers and has released statements impugning the actions of the victim in the case.
He has expanded his growing merchandise line, adding ‘The Office’ inspired “Prison Turtle” merchandise to his growing catalog of products cashing in on his recent arrests. While the recent negative attention may have swayed a few of his supporters to reconsider their support, overall, his fans remain committed to him no matter how awful his actions have been revealed to be.
But Turtleboy has a problem. All of the revelations at the protection order hearing were on record yesterday. The Judge made it clear that anything he said can and would be used at his pending criminal trials. Under oath, he admitted to multiple crimes under federal and state laws.
Turtleboy also began an assault on his connection to Karen Read. The information about Read’s brother allegedly making payments to Turtleboy and taking over his car payments could be extremely damaging to Read’s case, which is relying on public outrage and protests to fuel her defense. If Turtleboy was to turn on Read in order to protect his own future, it’s unclear who his fans would side with.
Monday was a nightmare for Turtleboy and it was a self-inflicted nightmare at that. Last year, before Turtleboy’s scheduled debate with Host Dan of the Welsh News Network, featured on Lauren DeLaguna’s YouTube channel, Host Dan warned Turtleboy that his overconfidence would result in him being arrested and put in jail within the next year.
Turtleboy allegedly scoffed at Dan’s comments, consumed with his own then growing popularity. He could not conceive of the situation Dan described to him, and in the end, he now has to deal with the reality that Dan’s warnings proved true, and he is facing the rest of his life in prison.
How much damage did Turtleboy do to himself yesterday? He admitted to a number of criminal charges that have yet to be put before him by the courts. Those admissions may have lasting consequences for the blogger that weigh heavily on his future even with the on-going support of his fans.
Turtleboy is due in court for a hearing later this month. We will continue to monitor his activities as his story unfolds.

What is clear is that TB is in deep trouble, all of his own making.
Speculating on possible charges that the grand jury may be looking at: conspiracy, accessory after the fact, etc It is one thing to harass people on your own but to do it for pay? That a lot worse, If they can link it back to Karen by way of her brother, they can get her for everything they charged TB and then more, all as part of a grand conspiracy.
Her brother gets pulled into this mess and who knows how much damage it will mean, not to mention the people TB allegedly harassed can now sue TB, the brother paying for his car and mayhaps even the dealership onto the manufacturer, depending on what the grand jury finds, and how deep their involvement is.
