I haven’t blogged in a while. Just haven’t had thoughts to share lately. Right now this is sort of a forced session since I’m sitting in my SUV as my dad is at a doctor’s appointment. I’ve forgotten my phone so I’m sitting here typing away on the MAC while listening to my Creative Vision W.
I probably should have loaded up on movies in case the session goes long, but I didn’t think about it. I did grab an episode of ‘The Office’ to play on this in case I get really bored. We’re extra early, which is unusual. I just wanted to get out of the house and didn’t feel like rushing. So I have tons of time to kill and no internet access, phone or other diversions.
Dammit, I should have brought a book with me. I still need to buy some games for this MAC. I think I have an asteroids clone on here, but the only things I really have to occupy myself on this MAC involve my home network, the internet or my external usb drive, none of which I have access to right now.
So it’s been a month and a half and the MAC hasn’t really changed my world. It’s nice to have but it isn’t world changing. Leopard came at the right time and addressed some issues that I didn’t like with Tiger, but, then again, it totally messed up my networking. Tiger would just see all the networks and connect without a problem. Leopard is a guessing game. I guess I should ask a MAC expert or something, but none of my friends with MACs have answers.
Well, that’s not true, my friend Stef has been kind enough (when she’s around) to give me pointers. It’s interesting though. I could have gotten my parents a MAC the other week, but instead I decided to build them a semi-new computer with Vista on it. Why not change them over to MAC? Because my dad can barely handle a PC, a MAC is different enough to throw him off computers forever. It really isn’t for everyone. That’s for sure.
I’d probably use this more if I used it as a desktop. If I had a dedicated monitor, keyboard and mouse. But that’s just me and laptops. It’s not a MAC issue. One of the reasons I didn’t use my old Compaq so much was that it just didn’t feel like a computer to me. I guess it’s my preference.
Got my angelic hippy music going again. Rilo Kiley and Fiest alternating on my MP3 player. I’m kind of bummed that creative labs doesn’t support the MAC, but I can do most of my file transfers on the PC without a problem. Plus I don’t buy anything from iTUNES so I don’t care as much.
The one thing I did use iTUNES for was sorting my thousands of MP3s. I just imported my library and let it sort by artist. Sure, it did screw up movie soundtracks and other collections, but it did put most of the music properly in place on my hard drive. If I need to sort by album or burn a cd, I can just sort by album and do it that way. It’s not much of a hassle since I hardly share music with anyone anyway.
I mean my life isn’t exactly social right now. I work, I sleep, I work, I sleep. That’s about it. I bitch to friends online. I don’t really have daylight hours to spend going out right now and I fight for every hour I can get. I’m putting my resume together for when I get all the wood done. I’m going to need extra money for Christmas so it might be time to get out of the house again, but who knows.
All I know is I’m tired.
All I know is I’m cold.
All I know is that I’m sick of sitting here in the car already.
Such is the way of the world.
