Oh, what a sad strange week this has been.
The Parking Valet Quarterly is the work of a single person, usually just waking up between 4-5AM ET each day after getting between 3 and 5 hours of sleep depending on how late the Welsh News Network show went the previous night.
Yes, I’m part of the cast of the Welsh News Network. The entire cast consists of people that I enjoy hanging out with and consider friends. I know that they’re not for everyone, but they don’t have to be. Not everything is tailored in this life to you and that’s okay.
The staff of The Parking Valet Quarterly consists of one person: Jim Finch. I (being me, the one, the man, the Yellow Bird or Mad Dog depending on the day) pick the content, I write the articles, and I write the the Op Ed pieces (this being one of them) in a vacuum.
I am human. I am fallible. I make mistakes. I have opinions. I’m not a ChatGPT bot. I have views and opinions like everyone else.
Subtle hint: If the headline reads “A Statement from the Publisher,” it’s an Op Ed or opinion piece. It’s not necessarily news, but for those who don’t know and those who cry out “but Jim Finch said in his paper…”
I tend to be approachable and is not a complete “meanie head,” ogre, mean spirited ass of a man. Many of you have pointed out errors in the paper (mainly grammar or spelling or when his keyboard decides to leave out a d) and I’ve thanked you, made the change and all is well in the world.
Each article has a comments field, while the comments are moderated before they go up, it ensures that the comments are actually seen before they go live, and I can respond back if they warrant a response. You have my contact information at the top of every article, I’m pretty visible on Discord and if you have a question or concern about the content in the paper, I urge you to just come to me and tell me your concern.
No one speaks for me. Come to me with your beef, let’s talk it through, and don’t depend on someone else to take care of it for you.
If you call me out on a Discord server other than my own (and that’s pretty sus right now with everything going on in the world), I’m more than likely not going to see it. If you go on a live stream and make your complaint there, again, I’m probably not going to see it. I’m on the air 5 hours a night and up to that point I am either sleeping or more than likely watching one of the 24-48 hours of daily content put out by the community per day.
So, throw me a bone here. Reach out, say your concerns, I’ll listen to you.
Corrections 101. You made a number of statements about your concerns about the paper. Why you did it on the CodedFriend show (a man who either proclaims he’s my true love or hates every move I make) is beyond me, but you have a beef, you’ve made it clear, and you haven’t reached out.
A beef will not go away if the people do not talk about it. Talking at each other or through intermediaries isn’t going to help and this is an attempt to get your attention. If you still have concerns, I’m willing to listen. Please reach out. Discord, e-mail, etc.
With that, my drama meter is on overload. I have an issue to finish, a sleep cycle to complete and a cat who is doing her best to prevent me from seeing my entire 27” monitor in front of me. But those are my immediate concerns for the moment and will resolve themselves (hopefully) quickly.
Have a wonderful drama filled day all.
