Hours after telling the Court in his Las Vegas federal civil rights lawsuit that he was much too busy with “work” to meet a deadline to amend his complaint in a lawsuit where he’s seeking a multi-million-dollar payout from the state of Nevada, Jose “Chille” DeCastro held his Thanksgiving eve infomercial returning to his old after-hours time slot.
A DeCastro live means about 90 minutes of watching his broadcast on 1.5x to 2x speed to filter through his constant infomercial for his products. In the past month, since splitting with Collin Campbell and becoming increasingly desperate for money, his live streams have pretty much been a wash with coverage as unless he gets really angry about something.
Lackluster and LIA announcing a product that does everything that DeCastro’s “transparency” app would do… if he ever got around to producing it, results in a pretty nice little story for the paper. Another look at another “cops behaving badly” video while announcing orders going through? There’s really not a lot to work with and more often than not, we’ll go to court coverage for our Chille coverage for the day.
While DeCastro’s subscriber base has grown at an enormous rate over the past year, he’s still pulling in the same 200-300 viewers a show he did last year at this time. Even with the switch to his informercial format, his numbers really haven’t fallen off, he’s still pulling in the same 200-ish viewers he’s always has. He’ll peak if he’s especially insane, but the seemingly artificial inflation of his numbers (the mysterious spikes up to 500+) no longer happen on a regular basis.
For the paper, DeCastro is still the site’s bread and butter. Our reader base reads Chille articles. While we’ve expanded to cover Long Island Audit, James Freeman, Regan Benson, etc., the core reader to this publication seems to be here to follow Chille DeCastro. Unless someone does something especially egregious, the viewer numbers of a non-DeCastro story usually come in around 20% lower than even a mid-level DeCastro story.
Others have branched out to follow more obscure auditors and even cover controversial figures like Frauditor Wrangler, those stories don’t seem to do well with our audience, and we tend to allow others to tell those stories through our featured videos and live events coverage.
In the year of doing the paper and in the five months since going to individual articles instead of a daily summary of events, there are still secrets about the site that we haven’t quite gotten across to our readers. One of those is that we intend to provide a “slice of life” of what’s happening in our part of the first amendment auditing community.
A lot of our readers see our daily blurbs in various discord forums as “the paper,” in reality, the product we put out each day is located on the front page of this site and serves as a historical document of what is going on in the community.
On our front page we provide a calendar feature that enables our readers to go back through about a year’s worth of history to see what is going on each day. For each day you’ll get the news from that day, plus a song of the day (yes, nobody clicks them but I’ll persist in my love of random music), and the live event and featured videos listings.
Those listings are actually a reflection of everything going on in the community that we may not be covering or have time to cover. They showcase the work of the members of our community and are a good way of seeing what’s going on beyond the scope of this publication.
While we do compliment them with listings on our discord server, our intent every day is to showcase what people in our community are talking about, what their interests are and to showcase their kick ass work in producing YouTube content.
We’re about two weeks into our second year as a publication and we’ll be implementing changes. We may be taking on ads in order to offset costs incurred over the year. Production of the paper can be a full-time job and we’ll do our best to keep the paper running and the lights on.
Yes, this is the part where we do the reminder for the on-going yearly fundraiser that we’ll be pushing until January. Our cashapp link is: https://cash.me/$reallycoolsite and our paypal link is: https://paypal.me/ReallyCoolSite?country.x=US&locale.x=en_US.
Your contributions have already helped us upgrade the art for the site and frankly, kept the lights on during a fairly rough time of year. While we don’t tend to ask for help, every contribution has been much appreciated and really has made us thankful for our community over the past year.
We’ve had some inquiries about the animal situation. Right now, we have a full house of pets and this time of year we have about 8-10 feral cats living on our property, along with racoons, skunks, possums, etc. We live in a remote area where people tend to dump unwanted animals who end up at our front door.
In the near future, the site will be adding an Amazon wish list for those who want to help out with the critters. We’ll more than likely be starting a critter cam (indoor animals only) on our YouTube page (http://www.youtube.com/@ReallyCoolSite), featuring live streams of cats sleeping as we work in our office.
For those inquiring about audio versions of our articles? Stay tuned! Things are in the works, and we may have an announcement a little after the new year.
As we wind down and continue to avoid last night’s three-hour DeCastro broadcast, we just want to make it clear how thankful we are for your patronage. It’s been a difficult year but one full of growth and we are more than thankful for your continued support on this Thanksgiving Day.
From everyone involved in the paper (including the critters), thank you and have a very special holiday!
Jim
