Incompetence and apathy marred Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s Thursday as disastrous broadcasts by Brian “Here’s The Deal” Young and Michael Ehline marred his fundraising ability while a Maryland court may have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Starting in Maryland, DeCastro was scheduled to be tried on Thursday for general harassment, misuse of the telephone to harass and use of electronic communication harassment charges in relation to threats allegedly made towards former business partner Collin “Project Constitution” Campbell.
DeCastro was a no-show to the case as he is incarcerated in the Clark County, Nevada, Detention Center. Under normal guidelines, a bench warrant would be issued for the defendant and the defendant would be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500.
In an e-mail shared by Campbell to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the prosecutor in the case indicated that because DeCastro was never served in the case, a general warrant would be issued for DeCastro’s arrest to serve the same purpose as a bench warrant.
Campbell’s ongoing claims that the prosecutor said that Maryland would pay to extradite DeCastro was not included in the released e-mail, nor was DeCastro’s record in the Maryland Court Website updated to reflect the warrant as of press time.
DeCastro’s bad day continued as he agreed to allow Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young and attorney Michael Ehline do livestreams on his DeleteLawZ channel.
Young’s broadcast again reflected Young’s extremist views on the law and government and failed to inject the much-needed revenue boost DeCastro needed into his product line. Peaking at 229 live viewers, and averaging 190, the curiosity of having a new host on DeCastro’s channel has apparently faded as Young has failed to maintain even DeCastro’s low standards of viewership.
Ehline fared better, but his incompetent actions may have hurt more than helped DeCastro’s cause on Thursday.
The Texas based lawyer advertised his live stream as a jail house live interview with DeCastro. As such, a live phone interview would be in violation of the Clarke County Detention Center’s guidelines on third-party calls and drew curious viewers to the broadcast expecting and appearance of DeCastro.
Instead, Ehline, after fumbling through technical difficulties, announced that he had visited DeCastro at the Clark County Detention Center. The attorney claimed he had conducted an “interview” of DeCastro at the visit, though no video footage was shown, and no audio was played of the interview.
Ehline essentially gave a meandering message from DeCastro that he was in need of an immediate $30,000 to fund the flat fee required to hire an attorney to handle his upcoming trial for his February 2024 Las Vegas arrest for obstructing/giving false information to a police officer.
A new GoFundMe was apparently set up by Ehline seeking $30,000 to fund the new defense attorney. Ehline then reviewed parts of DeCastro’s edited footage of the February arrest. Ehline, who would claim that this would be the first of a series of weekly broadcasts on the DeleteLawz channel following in-person “interviews” with DeCastro.
Ehline’s best efforts Thursday night resulted in $140.00 donated towards the new GoFundMe.
DeCastro is set for his first pre-trial hearing for the new charges on May 1, 2024.
