Monday night saw the much-anticipated live debate on the Auditing Erie County auditing YouTube channel between SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes (LIA) and Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young (Deal) pass without controversy as both men agreed on most of the discussed topics.
The auditing match up was hyped on Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s Monday afternoon live infomercial as a battle between the pair with potential consequences for the entire First Amendment auditing community. However, the only fireworks came when DeCastro himself was ultimately banned by channel owner Auditing Erie County for disrupting the side chat.
Deal was standing in for DeCastro, who had previously claimed that LIA was not knowledgeable enough to take him on in a debate. DeCastro also had the opportunity to take part in the open discussion panel after the debate had ended to refute some of the claims made by panelists but refused to do so.
With both his main DeleteLawZ and DeleteLawZClips accounts timed out by the host, DeCastro apparently returned using his American Patriot account. DeCastro pretended to be an associate while on the American Patriot account and continued to insult chatters and threaten that Auditing Erie Count would “feel the repercussions of blocking @Delete Lawz.”
Returning to the debate itself, most viewers described it as being fairly lackluster as the two agreed more than they disagreed on most topics in relation to first amendment audits. LIA did take a handful of shots at DeCastro, without naming him directly, stating that he didn’t like channels that focused on merchandise sales and cults of personalities.
When confronted himself over his own involvement with the Attorney Shield program, LIA claimed that he had the opportunity to take on sponsorship in the past but declined until he was approached with the Attorney Shield program.
In what he claimed was not a pitch, but sounded like a pitch, LIA claimed that the Attorney Shield program could really save lives. He then praised the app’s ability to continue recording (once activated) after a person is taken into custody as a potentially life-saving feature.
In another topic that loosely referred to DeCastro, LIA and Deal both agreed that they were role models to other auditors and their viewers. They jointly lightly denounced those who refuse to cooperate with police or get out of their cars to negatively engage with police as putting their own lives in danger and showing the wrong way to handle encounters.
While Deal defended the ability to swear and talk negatively to police, both agreed that their antics on video should never encourage others to put their lives at risk.
After LIA left the program, Auditing Erie County opened the panel up to multiple other auditors. DeCastro declined to join the panel at that time.
