Attorneys for James “James Freeman” Springer (Freeman) and New Mexico’s Seventh District Courts met on Thursday for their previously scheduled settlement conference.
Freeman was represented by attorneys A. Blair Dunn, Jared Robert Vander Dussen and Zachary J. Cook. The Seventh District Court was represented by Jade Delfin with law clerk Alex Callison.
From the clerk’s notes released on PACER, Delfin indicated that she would be filing a motion to dismiss based on Freeman’s newly released second amended complaint.
Dunn countered that he would be filing another motion for a preliminary injunction to block the seventh district’s continued ban on Freeman from using court facilities without a police escort.
Delfin also complained about Freeman directly confronting the defendants in person, rather than going through his counsel. She also raised the issue of Freeman encouraging his viewers to call and e-mail flood her.
Dunn argued that this issue had not been properly raised with the court and United States Magistrate Judge Jennifer M. Rozzoni ordered Delfin to raise the issue through a motion to the Court.
The next settlement conference in the case has been tentatively scheduled for May 22, 2024.
