The Welsh News Network (WNN) started a campaign Monday night to raise funds for the moving costs of well-known Discord personality Veen, who has been forced to relocate from his current residence while undergoing cancer treatment.
Host Becca read the following statement on Monday’s show:
As you may or may not know, our viewer, friend, and victim of MissMandy, Veen has been going through chemo treatments, for stage 4 Rectal Cancer, which has spread to his lungs, for several months now. He has one more treatment (in about a month’s time) before his PET scan which will, hopefully, reveal positive results.
Â
After many years of living in a beautiful and safe neighborhood in California, he has had to relocate to a new apartment in a new city. The complex he was living in decided to renovate in order to bring in new tenants at higher rental costs. This is horrible timing since Veen is struggling with the effects of chemo and cancer. While this new place has many upsides, it has a number of downsides for him, including financially.
In order to help ease the stress of the new expenses he will endure as a result of his relocation, and to ensure he has everything he needs to be comfortable, WNN with Epiphannies and Rejara, is organizing this fundraiser for Veen. This is not a fundraiser for medical expenses since, thankfully, they are already covered. Our goal is $2000.00 and the fundraiser will run until this amount is raised.
If this amount is raised, Dan in solidarity for Veen and other cancer survivors, will shave his head.
Dan was soon joined in the pledge by Host Hank, Pope Phil and Jim Finch along with pledges to do the same by audience members. Host Shuggy, while unable to shave his head due to work requirements, had the others panel members volunteer that he would shave his back in solidarity.
WNN’s efforts have raised roughly half of their fundraising goals as of press time with all donations going directly to Veen. Those who wish to contribute directly can do so by sending donations to the paypal account of channel@welshnewsnetwork.com.
Disclosure: While ReallyCoolSite works in conjunction with the Welsh News Network and Jim Finch appears as a regular panel member on WNN broadcasts, neither has editorial control of the other’s contents.
