Jose “Chille” DeCastro followed up the Wednesday termination of his phone call to Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young with news on Friday that he was currently in “the hole” and segregated away from the general population.
Unlike the traditional description of “the hole” as solitary confinement, DeCastro’s version of “the hole” consisted of being housed in a small room with two other offenders for twenty-three hours a day. No books, writing utensils or paper are provided to inmates during this time and they’re only allowed to leave the cell for one hour a day.
DeCastro claimed that he was never shown a jail handbook, so he didn’t violate the rules when Young live streamed their phone call. His lack of knowledge of the rules did not prevent him from being taken to “the hole” by five security guards, having a panic attack on the way to his new housing unit.
Claiming he would be in “the hole” for three to five days before a hearing to restore him to general population, he begged his fans again to come to Las Vegas on Monday en masse for his bond hearing to show Judge Ann Zimmerman that he was a leader of men and should not be in jail.
According to DeCastro, livestreaming and recording of phone calls are considered calls to a third party and prohibited by the Clark County Detention Center’s prisoner guidelines. DeCastro’s daily recordings, including his “emergency phone call” are in violation of these guidelines as they’re recorded and distributed on his YouTube channel.
A copy of the prisoner guidelines are available to prisoners the inmate kiosk during free time, and prisoners can request to read the guidelines by making a request from the housing unit officer.
While describing his ordeal as “hell on Earth,” DeCastro promised he would be writing a book about his horrific experiences. The YouTuber also claimed to be in contact with his attorney, who was working on means to see him released from jail at his upcoming bond hearing.
