Jose “Chille” DeCastro openly talked about a run for mayor of New York City “in four years” during his Friday live infomercial after discussing problems with the subway system that has seen the return of national guard involvement in security measures.
DeCastro, who has previously claimed to have lived in New York City as an executive for an unspecified “ten year” period, provided an idea for stationing armed national guardsmen on each train with an on call button allowing passengers to summon help if a dangerous situation occurred in their vicinity.
The YouTuber was responding to recent measures by New York governor Kathy Hochul to bring back the national guard to perform bag searches at subway stations throughout the city following a recent increase in violence.
DeCastro criticized the searches as while the searches find weapons, they could not help when violence broke out on the train. The diminutive YouTuber cited his “forty-pound arm” as a weapon and said that he could choke any man with just his hands in order to rob or steal from them.
He also criticized the extended national guard presence at the stations as it did not prevent passengers being thrown from the trains and onto the tracks.
Wondering aloud at a possible run, DeCastro seemed intrigued by the possibility as the only requirements to run were to establish residency in the city and to gain enough signatures in the signup period to support a run. He seemed to have an idea of actually living elsewhere while returning to the city to briefly campaign as his supporters would bring him the victory.
Again, pondering aloud that he had “four years” to wrap up his efforts in California and Nevada after Google searching for information on the mayorship, DeCastro missed the fact that the next New York City mayor’s election is in 2025 and not 2028.
DeCastro also seemed to be confused at the fact that Governor Hochul was the person responsible for bringing the national guard to city subways. While the mayorship is a powerful entity within the city, the national guard is controlled by the governorship and some of the plans DeCastro had as mayor, such as implementing a program putting multiple national guardsmen on trains, would be out of his hands as mayor.
The YouTuber has been obsessing over the city of New York in recent days as he has prolonged his one-sided rivalry with New York based auditor SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes. DeCastro recently announced that he would be traveling to New York City to prove to the Long Island based auditor that he was the “top auditor on YouTube” and presumably conduct audits in the area.
As DeCastro has promised the same visit to New York City dating back to the spring of 2023, it is unclear when he will find time to do so as his claimed up-coming travel schedule has him doing a tour of America from Alabama to Texas to Oklahoma to Michigan in the coming days.
This is a developing story.
