As a result of this image, and being assaulted during a press conference last week while asking questions to an accused murderer, I have been let go from @JURISTnews.
I was told the decision was made because people were trolling JURIST on social media, In… https://t.co/pqUTpa7s15
Smith Ellis, who retains his press credentials and will continue his coverage of Massachusetts based judicial matters, shared that he was told that he was removed due to complaints from about his reporting.
The reporter had become a lightning rod for criticism of fans of Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney (Turtleboy) and Karen Read in recent weeks for his reporting on both cases, which was considered negative by their supporters.
Smith Ellis was most recently photographed flipping off fans of Karen Read outside of the courthouse after her latest court hearing, a photograph widely distributed online by both fans of Read and of Turtleboy.
In a follow up post, the reporter thanked his fans for writing letters of support to the JURIST and indicated that he was told he would be eligible to return in the fall, an offer he rejected.
This is a breaking news story.
