Ring Report II Vol. I Ed. III
Welcome everyone to a third edition to the RING REPORT II. After a extremely tough week of finals I can actually say that I have screwed up the most important year of my life….JUNIOR YEAR! Well, I have to look on the bright side…..3 down 1 to go! Enough of this chewing the fat lets get to the thick of things. This week we have our first WCW article, a Bret Hart article and more trivia. I also wanted to say that even though I want lots of people to write for me, if you say you will don’t BS me. I delayed this edition because people said that articles were on the way. It isn’t cool to offer help and then not give it. Please contribute, but don’t try to kiss my a– and then not come through….thanks for reading and enjoy the ride!
BRET “THE HITMAN” HART by Jacob Kahla
One year ago at King of the Ring, Bret Hart defeated 3 men to become King of the Ring. 2 months later, at SummerSlam, he beat Lawler’s substitute, Doink, and then went on to beat Lawler too, unfortunately, he became the first wrestler to be DQ’d after the match had ended. Later, at Survivor Series, after Owen was eliminated, Bret virtually single handedly beat Shawn Micheals and the remaining knights. At the Royal Rumble, Bret not only went for his third tag team title, he also became a co-winner of the Royal Rumble. To top it all off, at WrestleMania X, he not only fought his brother, but also completed his triple-double, by beating Yokozuna for the Championship. Is there a pattern here? Yes. The last time Bret fought only one person at a PPV was WrestleMania IX. Why is Vince overworking Hart? I think Vince feels that the only way Hart can carry the federation is if he seemingly does the impossible and comes back against all odds. This may be why, Bret seems to always try and push his “knee injury”. At the end of WrestleMania X, Vince proclaimed that this was the blast-off of a new era. The Red and Yellow stink-bomb has been dropped on WCW and now it is time to worship the Pink and Black. The question is, will this year-long pattern end at this year’s KOTR? Or will Vince once again send Hart to face virtually all of his heel staff in one night? In the past, Vince has developed distinct patterns for his PPV’s. There was a time when each PPV consisted of exactly two title changes. In the last match of the evening, there was ALWAYS a happy ending. And the most curious of all the patterns was the one that always put the Rockers in the opening match of the event. Even when the rockers split up, Shawn Micheals at WM IX was in the opening match. But most, if not all of those patterns are no longer used. King of the Ring will tell all. Remember, if you study the past, you’ll know the future.
WCW
by The Wrestling Eye
Wow, what a great SLAMBOREE, The Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan vs. Nasty Boys match was worth the $24.95 pay-per-view price. It was one of the wildest matches I have ever seen. It reminded me a great deal of some of the ECW matches which have taken place recently. If you want bloody, out-of-control action, then Philadelphia is the city to be in.
It was great seeing Terry Funk back in WCW. Funk, at the age of fifty, is still of the best workers in the business. Obviously, Funk is a big fan favorite in Philly.
The other matches on the card were average, but not exceptional. Barry Windham needs to lose some weight, he looked a little soft. The best chant of the night was the constant “we want blood’ which rang
through the Philadelphia Civic Center.
The worst part of SLAMBOREE was the terrible, horrible, unnecessary interview with Dusty Rhodes. Hey Dusty: we all know you weren’t in Hollywood! There are rumors that Rhodes is going to come out of retirement and battle Terry Funk. This is fine, I have no problem with it. Rhodes deserves a retirement match. However, if he is going to come out of retirement; I hope and pray he keeps his mouth shut.
That’s all for this time!
Happy wrestling!

RUMOR MILL
The rumors and speculations are flying about who this family member of Bret Hart will be for the King of the Ring. I have heard many people say what they heard from “reliable sources.” But I have to tell you I think most of them are pretty bogus. Someone on AOL posted a would-be scenario if Owen were at Bret’s aid and it sounded pretty cool, too cool for the WWF. Haven’t we all realized by now? The WWF will never do anything that we think would be great. They will milk this Brother vs. Brother deal as long as they have milked the USA vs. the World angle. When it goes dry, they just keep at it. Personally, I gather that it will be Niedhart. His show that he did with that HH guy (I figured it out that that’s what I’m supposed to call him) is not filming anymore and he is a free agent. His build is still good and I could see him back in the ring real soon. It also wouldn’t surprise me to see OWEN with Diesel and Shawn Michaels. That would be when Davey Boy Smith would come down to the ring. I just hope that we are spared of seeing Stu Hart hobbling around the ring like a fat lump. The old guy angle didn’t work with Chief Jay Strongbow, why should it work with Stu? Well, we’ll just have to see. I won’t be able to cover the KOTR because a 17 year-old’s funding is not that great, but if anyone wants me to.

Other rumors are running around about this Over/Undertaker deal. No one’s story is the same about this angle. I won’t continue the speculation, we’ll have to see what happens.
Well thus ends another edition of the Ring Report II. Enjoy yourselves and I have to finish relaxing now. Next week will be the last edition until August 6 or so. If anyone wants to take over until then, let me know as soon as possible.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK,
