Ring Report II Vol. I Ed. IV
Well, this is the last issue that you will be reading until August. I’m sure some of you would like to see this issue with some great articles, but none were submitted in time. This issue will feature one “Earth-SHATTERING” rumor which I have been informed of. At first I was skeptical about it, but the evidence was conclusive and I’m sure WWF fand will be rather happy about it. Enough of this small talk, lets get to it!
King of the Ring Report
Although I did not actually get to see this WWF PPV event, many people have informed me of exactly what went on. The big surprise (not really) was that Jim “The Anvil” Niedhart was Bret Hart’s secret family member. Jim unloaded on Diesel and Bret lost the match via DQ, but kept his title. Later, Jim helped Owen Hart win in his match over Razor “I have no energy” Ramon. This was a surprise. Owen won and proclaimed himself King of Harts. This leads up to my big rumor that I’ll keep you hanging on until later on. All in all, this is one of the most mixed reviewed PPV’s that I remember. I still remember people saying this sucked or this was terrible or I want my money back. This was different, no one said anything like that. It was just, “Well it could have been better.” This leads me to believe that the WWF might really be losing support in a big way. It wasn’t that anyone expected this PPV to be good. There was nothing to watch. No, HH vs. a big bad guy who is really hated by the fans. If I were Vince McMahon, I would be very worried. If one of my biggest draws (Shawn Michaels) is a heel, that is bad news. Bret Hart can’t carry a federation. And honestly that is what only a very select few can do. A federation needs that one guy who wins all the time and the fans love, not some guy in pink and black handing glasses to some little brat.
Rumor Mill
Well, let me set the stage. Hulk Hogan, the biggest wrestling icon in all of the world, moves into the WCW. Everyone is happy in Turnerville, they have someone who is now the fan’s favorite. But who was left behind? A man named STING, that’s who. Yesterday, I recieved a call from my friend, who wishes to remain nameless, he told me that there were big happenings in the WCW that I’d care about. I told him not to waste my time and I hung up. Half an hour later he told me that the rumors flying at his office were actually not that far off. According to him and another person that I asked to confirm this, Titan Sports Inc. has offered to buyout Sting’s contract, and purchace all liscensing of his name, in exchange for the liscense to “Hulkamania” and the right to Brutis Beefcake’s contract. This sets up what is inevitable. The MAIN EVENT FOR SUMMERSLAM ’94: Bret “Hitman” Hart and his partner Sting vs. Owen Hart and Jim Niedhart otherwise known as the New Foundation. This might be just the match the WWF needs to get back on its feet. I know some of you will speculate, but you gotta hope and trust!
