Jeremiah Payne uploaded another negative encounter with a police officer on Monday, this time a dispute in Tennessee with Officer B. Gardner over walking on the side of an interstate highway in Lewisville.
Officer Gardner approached Payne and his family as they were walking on the side of a highway when the dispute occurred. Payne insisted that he had the right to walk on the side of the highway, while Gardner insisted that he would transport the family out of danger.
Payne initially refused to give his identification to the officer during the dispute, stating that he did not have his identification on him. When the officer attempted to identify Payne’s wife Samantha, Payne gave his first name to the officer, threatening a lawsuit at the same time.
The pair were eventually driven off the interstate by Officer Gardner, with Payne declaring that his video of the event would go “so fucking viral” as he had never heard of any rules prohibiting walking along a highway.
As the officer explained and a simple check of TN.gov verified, pedestrians “may use any road in the State of Tennessee that is not access controlled (like an interstate).”
The Paynes were dropped off by the officer after a short ride, with Jeremiah verbally adding Lewsiville, Tennessee, to his pending list of lawsuits.
